Santa and Mrs. Claus are planning a Sunday-before-Christmas devotional to be spent at their summer home in Mexico tomorrow. They have invited hundreds of elves and their families who are close by to attend.

The Christmas devotional is a tradition at the North Pole. Like most church services, there is singing of hymns and reading of the Christmas story from the 2nd Chapter of Luke in the Bible. Santa believes in a day of rest each week and he regards Sunday as a holy day meant for worshiping and being together as family. That tradition will remain for this year, just not at the North Pole as usual.

"Christmas time is wonderful in Mexico," said Mrs. Claus, who is preparing traditional tamales for the Sunday meal. "We just love the warmth and the bright colors and the nice people! What a blessing it is to be here this year."

Santa told me today that while it has been a very busy week he is very pleased with how things are going.
