Can you believe it?! It is snowing here! We are only getting 2 to 4 inches but that is exciting for us. I have been telling you all how much I wanted some snow, so I had to come and share with you that we finally got some. My whole family have been sliding down the hills, throwing snow balls, building a snowman, and just running around all happy in the snow. It has been great. The last time we had snow was 2001. Those of you that live with snow yearly probably think I have lost my mind to be so excited about that much snow, but this is a big snow for us. LOL!!

That's great Sugarplum Fairy! We got a few flurries earlier but it has since come and went...which is fine by me. I am not a real lover of the snow. My daughter who is 6 totally loves the stuff!

Sugarplum, that's so cute I guess they will remember this day for a long time. When we didn't have money we used the big garbage bags & sat in them to go down the hills. Don't forget to make a snowman & take pictures of it to keep.:snowball:

We took a lot of pictures and video taped a lot, too. It was so much fun. My son (6), great niece (3), and great nephew (1) had never played in the snow before. They were so excited. That made it even better. We all were acting like little children again. It was such a nice stress reliever from normal everyday life/problems. Just to get outside and act like a bunch of kids with your family was very nice.

Where in Alabama do you live? My wife and I lived in Pleasant Grove/Hueytown for about 8 years before moving to Illinois. I remember our first two years in Alabama (1991 and 1992) we had about a foot of snow each year. After that we were fortunate to see any snow at all.

I live in Talladega. We are having crazy weather right now. One day last week it was 70 degrees, then the day after it only got to the mid 30's. We even had snow flurries that day. The next day it was back in the upper 50's.

I bet you get a lot of snow now in Illinois.

Snow, frost and fog.

Yeah, we don't get snow very often around here. It is so funny to think about people up north get it all the time. They drive in it, work in it, and go about their daily lives. Down here everything comes to a stop. Even the mention of snow flurries empties the grocery stores. LOL.

We might have snow flurries tomorrow. Of course, nothing will stick because it was near 70 today, but I can't wait to see how the kids at work react to it. It did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. The kids kept asking if they were going to close school. LOL!!

I keep saying that one year I am going to visit my relatives in Michigan during the winter when they have a lot of snow so I can experience what it is like. I am sure after a while it would get old.

What a strange season this has been this year, today we had a high of 65 here, but they are calling for an ice storm tomorrow & Wednesday. Then Friday & Saturday they are calling for a north Eastern to hit us, with snow.

We are suppose to be getting a north Eastern over the week-end, they aren't sure how much snow yet, but hate those NE storms.Let the snow stay there...I hope we don't get anymore.

We might be getting snow flurries Friday night/Saturday morning. Nothing is going to stick, but it is so strange. Over the weekend it was near 80 degrees, yesterday it was in the upper 40's, today and tomorrow it is suppose to be in the 60's, then another cold front moves in with some rain turning into snow flurries Friday. I know we have strange weather here sometimes, but this is getting ridiculous.

Yes I believe it did, so we aren't out of the woods yet. Hopefully Spring will come soon.

We had about a half-inch of snow this morning. It was so pretty falling to the ground. As soon as the temperature went above freezing it melted fast. We went on top of Cheaha Mountain to the restaurant they have there for lunch. They still had a lot of snow. It was so cold. The wind was strong and made it cold. It was such a pretty drive up the mountain. That is the highest point in Alabama. We sat by the window that overlooked everything. It was the first time I had been there when it snowed. It was very nice. We all loved it.

:snowball:This is the only snow I get :( You're so lucky! There's my snowball to you. I hope you enjoyed it. It's been a long time since I got to play in the snow.

I wish we had gotten snow here. It feels cold enough for snow, but all we're getting is a drizzle (not even real rain, which we desperately need), and cold, gray days.
