In a surprise move Santa has avoided Japan for the moment and headed for the south seas. The warm climates of the Fiji Islands have welcomed Santa and his reindeer.
"This is one area of the world we worry about," admitted Elf Billy, who is tracking Santa in the Weather Center.
"high humidity and high heat take a toll on the reindeer. They cannot fly as fast for sustained periods of time. We have several relief reindeer teams in the area should Santa need the extra help."
