Reports in the field from Santa's Secret Spies is that there has been an organized effort by some kids in Australia to stay awake to see Santa come down their chimneys.
We strongly advise all kids everywhere to heed Santa's call for an early bedtime. "Santa wants kids in bed early because he knows that most will wake up very early on Christmas morning," explains Elf Gloria, Santa's Commissioner of Traditions at the North Pole. "Kids who stay up late on Christmas Eve get cranky on Christmas morning and that could ruin Christmas for the rest of the family. So Santa tries to help by asking kids to go to bed."
I think Santa also knows that many kids want to see him in their own homes. But I need to remind you that Santa has to work very fast on Christmas Eve so that he can get to all the kids in all the world. If he comes to your house and eats cookies with you, he might miss someone before Christmas morning and he just can't afford to do that.
We hope you understand and will listen to Santa's request to go to bed.
