cheesy There I go again. These are great polls, D-G ... not easy. It's hard for me to make a decision when there are several tempting choices (you should see me ordering dinner at a restaurant) - in the end I went with Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
My mom played BlackJack with Jim Backus (a.k.a. Mr. Magoo and Thurston Howell the Third)

cheesy I believe she did.
That was the year people mistakenly held the door or moved out of her way and referred to her as "Liza" thinking she was Liza Manelli.
She almost signed an autograph, but my dad stopped her.

Aw he should have let her

:hello: Oh yeah, this brings me to another thought ... if anyone heard or read that Liza was eluding folks and being a tad rude by not stopping to speak with her fans in the mid-70's, relax - it was just my mom.
HaHa.

:rudolph:Mr Magoo was, in my opinion, the BEST version of A Christmas Carol... EVER! When he sings "I'm All Alone In The World" with young Magoo/Scrooge, it brings a tear to my eye every time!
Plus, I could never understand how The Flintstones, a PRE-historic family would even know about Christmas, since it would be thousands of years until the birth of Christ...
But, that's just me...

Now that you mention it George - A Muppet Christmas Carol and Mickey's Christmas Carol get those puddles filling up in the old eyeballs too, in the end it was Mr. Magoo who tugged the most for me in this round.

:rudolph:And Magoo had those great songs, too! By Jules Stine and (IIRC) Bob Merrill... a Broadway writing team that treated Magoo as a legitimate job and not just another "kiddie cartoon"... did you know that the Barrbara Streisand classic "People" was originally written for Magoo's Christmas Carol..? For some reason or other, it never made the final cut... being replaced (I believe) with "Winter Was Warm" at the eleventh hour.
"We're rep-re-hensible... we'll steal your pen and pen-ci-ble"
It doesn't get any better than that!

Where's the big screen musical SCROOGE (1970), starring Albert Finney? You passed that up, but included some Animaniacs episode?
Bah, humbug!
