It has never entered my head to decorate for Easter - even when I lived in Canada, it wasn't something we did.

Is it a common thing to do??

I've only just found out when Easter actually IS!!!!

I don't decorate much for Easter or St. Patricks Day. I have a few window clings for each Holiday. That's about the extent of it. I agree with dvdguy...we eat, I usually make a nice dinner. Oh yes and little one and I color eggs.

About the only decorating I do for Easter is my computer wallpaper and screensaver, my front door wreath, and a flower garden flag. I haven't done anything yet though.

We don't really decorate for Easter either. I want to but have not anything that I like or ai have found something but the price I felt was a bit too much. I am still looking though maybe I will buy stuff afterwards for next year.

My husbands dyes egss with the kids. That is his tradition with the kids.

We also dye the eggs, although now that our sons are older 19 & 21, I have their girlfriends over and they talk the boys into doing it.
Have you ever dyed eggs using silk ties? You wrap the eggs in old silk ties that you have cut into pieces, then place the wrapped eggs in boiling hot water for about 3-5 min. Turn off the water and let sit until cool. The colors transfer to the eggs - neat and non messy!

but was looking to see what I have and what I need. I always decorate my special need school bus for the kids. St Patrick's day comes first, so that is being done tomorrow so it is ready for Monday. Then sometime during the week of March break I will do the bus for Easter. I love making my house look nice for every holiday!

antieclaus:Wow, what do you have for St. Patty's day?

I picked up a bunch of stuff at the dollar store, garlands, big green shamrocks, hats, glowing pins for everyone. They have a lot there, but it was out in Janurary already so I picked most of it up then.

How cute..I like the sound of this garland with the 4 leaf clovers...I also wanted to mention MMD that when I do my corned beef and cabbage I buy it from Walmart and it comes with a season packet. I put the c. beef in the crock pot and cover it with water add the seasonings...about the last 2 hrs I add the cut up cabbage. It turns out really good everytime. My dads wife cooks hers in the oven...I don't really care for it this way..it's not as moist.

I went to a restaurant today that had the cutest Easter decorations. They had a white "Christmas" tree with pastel colored bows, egg shaped ornaments, and little bunny ornaments. On top was a stuffed bunny and big pink bow. Under the tree was Easter grass with eggs, bunnies, and baskets. I can't describe it accurately enough to do it justice. My husband even thought it was cute. It was!!

Debbie...I didn't seem to find any garland. This Walmart I went to today had very little St. Patrick Day decorations...oh well maybe next year. I did manage to get Larissa this awesome kite from Costco for Easter..as well as Hannah Montana stuff for her Easter Basket and lots of candy.

I see...well either they had them and sold all...or they just never carried them. I did get my corned beef and can't wait to make it..for St. Patty's Day...may have to consider having a green beer to wash it all down...*L

Well I have had it once or twice and thats how they do it here in States....*L They have a big St. Patty's Day celebration in Butte, Montana...(about 2 hrs west of me) it get's crazy..one big party and everything is green. Including the beer! =)
Here is what their local paper says about it...
If you're looking for the best St. Patrick's Day party in the West, with plenty of green beer and parading leprechauns on the side, consider this excursion to "the Ireland of the West," Butte, Montana. Though Butte couldn't look less like Ireland's emerald shores, Celtic heritage runs deep through generations who originally came here to mine copper. It's almost like a New Orleans Mardi Gras.

Gotta say, the party looks terrific!!!!

Guinness is the drink Ireland is famous for - have you ever tried it?? You need a knife and fork for that stuff - tasty though!! Mind you, it's so dark, you'd never know if there was food colouring in it or not!!

I bought lime jello, so for dinner Monday I will make Mashed potatoes colored egg, steak, peas, & lime Jello. With lime kool aid, wanted to make corned beef & cabbage but doctor said D/H can't have the cabbage yet.
