Santa has entered Iranian airspace and is proceeding cautiously at this time. Very few in Iran recognize Santa Claus or believe in him there. Santa insists on stopping there to pay his respects to the local government and to find those believers who need him to visit.

Over the years Santa has had visits to many hostile terroritories. In 1998 Santa was a target in Iraq and in 1999 he was fired upon with a water cannon in Syria. Fortunately, Santa has always found Iran to be peaceful. He treads cautiously and hopes his short presence there will not prove to be disruptive in any way to those there who do not recognize him.

Elf Agent X reports that Santa is being escorted by several "security assets", as a protective measure.
