One leaf is for FAITH... The second for HOPE...
The third for LOVE... And the fourth for LUCK!
In Irish tradition the shamrock or Three-leaf Clover represents the Holy Trinity: one leaf for the Father, one for the Son and one for the Holy Spirit. When a Shamrock is found with the fourth leaf, it represents God's Grace

Thanks Annette!

My dad could always step up to a patch of clover and pick out a four leaf one with no problem. I would sit there for an hour and still not find one!

If it's a four-leaf clover, according to the song:

One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain,
The third is for daisies that grow in the lane.
No need explaining the one remaining,
It's somebody I adore ...
----- "I'm Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover"
