We have a new feature called "Groups" here on the Merry Forums. It is designed to allow our members to form into special interest families with their own membership and their own forums.
Check it out: Today I set up a group called "I Believe in Santa (http://www.mymerrychristmas.com/forum/group.php?groupid=1)". Within that group I can post pictures and it automatically sets up our own group forum. This is a "public group", meaning anyone can join.
Think about what this means:
Say, for example, you want to get together with other Christmas light enthusiasts here on the forums. Create a group and then invite your fellow light nuts to join it. You'll then be set up to do your own thing -- stash your own photos, moderate your own forum, the works.
Now, in order for this to work there are a few guidelines:
1. All our regular forum rules apply. So don't go trying to form groups that won't fit within our family-friendly environment.
2. You can have as little as 1 member in a group. But you need at least 5 members in your group before your ability to create your own forum area is given to you.
3. When you've formed a group be sure to stop by this forum (http://www.mymerrychristmas.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=109) to announce your group and invite interested parties to join.
Come give this a try!
