...my first visit to Santa happened in 1965. I was in diapers, so I'm told.
And I wanted nothing to do with him, so I am told.
I wet on Santa's leg, so I am told.
And I got everything I wanted for Christmas. So I am told.

I've sat on Santa's lap more times since I turned eighteen than before I did. My wife and I have had pictures with Santa done about five times since we met...And there is still a magic about meeting Santa and sitting with him...Even though I know that the Santa I'm meeting may not be the real one, he just MIGHT be the real one...And that's the magic!

I saw a sign in a store once that said "All Unattended Children Will Be Given a Free Puppy and an Espresso." Perhaps all children who wet on Santa should be given the same treatment...

when i was a child, my aunt lived in a small community on a very small lake. every xmas, santa would cruise around on a boat and stop and say hi to all the visiting grand kids and nieces and nephews (it was a retirement community). i thought that was just plain wrong and would have absolutely NOTHING to do with him. he totally terrified me tho i was never afraid around santa when i saw him anywhere else.
hadnt thought about that in a while. thanks!!!!

Wonder how many people would actually leave their children wandering about freely to receive the free puppy and espresso. Sure it sounds funny, but people like getting free stuff. Although a child on espresso might not be the type of perky fun at Christmas some parents have in mind.
cheesy I met Santa several times growing up and liked him right from the beginning. The best Santa I encountered as a child was at Santa's Village in Bracebridge. Ontario in the summer. The second best was this past Christmas season at our local Mall. He was alone briefly, I saw my opportunity and took it. Headed down that red carpet to him waiting in his big red and gold chair, I was going to whisper to him to find out if he had been to Santa school, but he was so much in character I forgot and suddenly I was talking to him, "Santa, I'll only take a bit of your time. I would like a Slinky, a can of corn and two Clementine oranges and of course I'll leave a tasty treat for you." He said in his deep friendly Santa voice, "my-my that's a most unusual request about the can of corn, I'll see what I can do, I know you've been good all year." I said, "thanks Santa and you have yourself a Merry Christmas". I sped back down the carpet, a toddler was ready to take my place. The guy who takes photos was laughing at me.
I met a teacher of teenagers diagnosed with various special needs and we got to talking and it turns out he's been playing Santa for several years. I gave him the ClausNet link and hope he'll join up.
I still strain my ears to hear the sound of sleigh bells in the sky on Christmas Eve so I guess you could call me a believer.

cheesy One year at Christmas, my mom and dad had so many dishes on the go they forgot about the corn. The next year at Thanksgiving I reminded them and every year since I've asked Santa for a can of corn just to be safe. And once my clementine oranges were forgotten. It just isn't Christmas without them.
Glad you understand Jay.
Clementine torte recipe sounds great, but I can't eat sweets.

The clementines are a given. Nothing fills the toe of a stocking better than a small orange, although my preference is a satsuma (variation on an original theme!)
You've got me on the corn though - are we talking popping or Green Giant???

Here in the land of the Jolly Green Giant.
Corn niblets are a must have. I brought my own can for Thanksgiving dinner last year only to discover that my mom remembered and when I helped serve the table, I placed that dish right close to me.
I don't get it, it's not the greatest vegetable out there, but I love it.
For Christmas in July, Santa will deliver turkey breast and corn on the cob.

:hello: Earlier today, I was reminded of a time when I was little and decided I was in love with Santa and wanted to marry him when I grew up. I think I was about five. My mom spoiled that plan by telling me that he was married to Mrs. Claus. That was a bummer for me.
Guess I figured if I married him, I'd get to play with all the toys and share his goodies.
I remember children lined up to see Santa, I love watching them visit with him. One boy was reluctant to go, but he wasn't scared, his mother pushed him forward, "go sit on his knee, honey" she urged, "I can't mom, he smells like tuna fish." The boy said. Thank goodness, Santa's cheeks were already a rosey colour.

Hello to all, My favorite Christmas memory is when my my kids were little and sleeping i had these long jingle Bells, and I would ring them them late at night. :hello: Not at all.
:)) Welcome to both of you and please join in and share your favourite Santa stories, jolly thoughts, etc.
On Monday, I'll send a copy (by email) of the letter I wrote (as Santa) replying to a group of preschoolers for their Christmas in July party. Half the letter was about me. Really! You'll have to read it. I actually used office time to reply to the children who had asked two days earlier if I (the real me) would call Santa on my new phone (it's a new intercom system) and ask him if he'd come to their party.
I had so much fun writing it, with tunes from Radio North Pole playing in the background, that it really brightened my day and helped me finish off my busy (more productive) week.
