Im new here and curious... :)
Im wondering how everyone decorates there home for the holidays???
Do you just decorate with what you like, do you go with a theme or color???
My Christmas decorating is primitve/antique/vintage...LOL I have a lot of Primitive snowmen (there my favorite) lots of rusty bells and greenery, clear lights, antique sleds, etc.

I don't have a color I stick with. And my main theme is Disney's Mickey Mouse.

Each year, I find I decorate more and more. I decorated my downstairs bathroom for the first time this past year and loved it. Our tree is covered with all different ornaments, no theme at all. My abssolute favorite thing is my village. This coming year we are adding a train so I am very excited.

We live in a pretty small apartment so we're limited to decorating inside. We don't do a "theme" but we have a tree, a wreath on the door and garland, bows and lights draped in the windows and doorways so I guess you could say we're pretty traditional in our decorating.

This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart! I love to decorate for all the holidays, but Christmas is the top of the list!! Why else would I be on a Christmas forum in the middle of May! LOL!!!
I like to have an overall theme for my holiday, then make the decorations, gifts, gift wrap, and food fit into that theme somehow. One year I used "Comfort and Joy" and gave gifts that gave comfort and/or joy. Last year it was "An Old Fashioned Country Christmas" and this year it's "The Heart of Christmas". So fun!
I use the same decorations every year, but I like to mix it up a bit and use each piece differently each time. I decorate every room, including the bathrooms, laundry room and both porches (front and back, although no one can see the back but us...but we enjoy it!). I have a little (4') white tree that I put in the kitchen last year with redbirds, red berries, black satin bows, black and white checked bows and red balls that had Victorian images decopagued on them. I cut the images out of some toile wrapping paper that I found a few years before and glued them on the red glass balls. They were very pretty, hanging from the branches with black satin ribbon.
I really don't know what I'm doing this year-that's always my summer project, while I sit on the back porch and watch the kids swim and sip iced tea with a big chunk of lemon! LOL!!

Like others each year we decorate more since we have more docrations. I ways buy more decorations right after Christmas for the following year. Our decorations vary. In the kids room, they have disney, looney tunes, seaseme street decorations with a few others mixed in on their trees. Each year they get to pick out a new ornament for their trees.
The dinning room tree is decorated with primative country decorations with burgendy and gold as the primary colors. There are other colors mixed in too. The tree in the family room is hubbys tree and is decorated in the Carolina panthers colors with sports oraments.
The main tree (in the livingroom) is decorated with mixed ornaments - old and new. Colored lights. We have lights and garland around the door ways and stair case. Wreath on the front door. We have Santa and Snowmen all over the living room.
Outside is decoated in mostly white lights: twinkling icicle lights in the house, white chaser lights on the deck, color chaser lights on the garage. Several white deer, several light trees - some white some color, twinkling candycanes on both side of the front walk way, and one inflatable (tree with snowmen) in the side yard. Garland on the deck and front step railings.
Not sure how we will decorate for this year since are are getting ready to place out house up for sale to get a bigger house.

nice and original! Well I put the 2 lights up on my window first (and we got new windows so they'll be a better view this year) and then the Christmas tree and decorations around the house...

I pretty much go with whatever catches my fancy. I've got 2 young kids at home and now two kittens so the non-breakable ornaments always go on the bottom of the tree. I'm in a new house so I'm not sure how I will decorate but I have the space for the tree all planned out already. The rest will be a little harder...I think I might do more decorating in the kids' rooms and our room this year.

I don't have a theme. I just put stuff wherever there is room, and when I am finished there is Christmas stuff everywhere.

Our tree has pocket themes. Favorite sports teams, Pooh & Friends, Looney Tunes, & lots of Santas.

I'm a big decorator. I've been collecting cool decorations for years! I wish I had a bigger house to be honest -- I have that much stuff.
I don't have a color scheme. My DH loves Santa and I love snowmen -- so we have a lot of those 2 around -- plus other fun stuff.

This will be my 3rd year in my townhouse with my hubby. Our first Christmas here I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and we didnt do as much decorating as I would have liked or what Im use to! Last year we were careful about what went on the tree or tables because of my 11 month old son. This year I hope will be the best yet, we have quite a few new pieces of furniture that my son wont be able to pull stuff off (New china cabinet, huge kitchen table and fireplace mantle). Should be really fun. Already looking at ideas for garland for the mantle and centerpieces for our table! Outside we put up live garland wrapped in white lights and a few red bows. We have a bay window that we put a small lighted tree in and candles in the upstairs bedroom windows!
