For many folks the holiday season actually starts during three or four sweltering days in July when QVC showcases new Christmas product.
What plans should we make to mark this event? A chat?

A chat would be nice, then we can talk eachother into buying more Christmas things.

can you imagine it, 100 degrees outside, listening to Christmas music, watching QVC with their Christmas in July show and all of us chatting about what we are going to do for Christmas and how we are going to decorate and stuff.....

I would like to have a chat. I DO watch QVC in July. But the pace is so slow. I know they are genuises at QVC - and they make the pace slow so we all break down and buy things. But it is not enjoyable for me to listen to salesmen discuss one set of solar lights for 10 or 15 minutes. So a chat would be great! It would distract me from the slow pace - and hypnotic voices of the QVC sales pros.
What could be better when it is 100 degrees outside - than to be inside, watching and listening to Christmas music, and chatting with people who love Christmas? :rudolph:

I don't think I have that problem...
It's more of an issue of talking me out of buying Christmas items!

Since I LOVE all things Christmas, I rarely meet a Christmas item for sale that I do not love! One thing I read really helped me limit what I actually BUY. It said that (as much as we love Christmas items in our home) those items all "communicate" to us, and almost create "static" reactions in us. That having mostly clear, undecorated spaces creates "peace" in us.
Of course, that does not mean that we should not have a tree - or as many trees as we want to have, and whatever we want in the way of decorations. For me, in my very small home, it limited the amount of decorations I put inside. I don't stop loving the decorations for sale in the stores. I just know that I want to feel peace at Christmas. And, for me, that means I must limit the amount of decorations I buy. I still love them. I just don't buy them.

So then the new question is, who will have the water hose near the computer to cool off those credit cards we will be using?
Sparkle, I do agree with you, they do tend to drain it out a bit.

golodenqiueenalicia, Try TV Guide (click here!) (http://www.tvguide.com/listings/setup/localizeus.aspx) to find your QVC channel. Just type in your zip code and hopefully you can find an option to click that suits your cable service. I hope that helps!

I wonder how sales on July 25th compare with other QVC sale days. I guess it is a success - or they wouldn't repeat it.

Lasgt year, every time I watched it - they were selling solar lights. I wonder what will be big this year.
