A Few Questions

I have a few questions. :-o Does anyone ever go in the chat rooms? Why is the time I submit a post an hour behind EST? And are there any other sites where there is real time chat about Christmas all year long? Okay I guess I'm done asking for the moment.

The chat room is sparsely used. There is a group of us from The Xmas Place who try to make use of it on Sunday evenings. But even then the folks are slim.

For the record, I'm not promoting the chat site much and that might be why no one is there. Chat rooms are a hotbed of trouble for webmasters and I've only placed it on the site for now for those who wish to wander there for a meet and greet now and then. And that's simply because we lack the resources to effectively manage it...you know, keep the bad elements away and generate the compelling chat that folks seek.

I am plannning on moving it to a faster server (and not tied to these boards) later on in the year and finding folks who could effectively manage it. Then we'll promote it.

Look at it this way: a year ago we didn't even have that. It'll get better as time goes on.

Well I can certainly understand. Chat rooms are disgusting anymore. You always get these people who have to come in and be vulgar. I don't understand that. Infact somebody just posted something nasty in one of these forums. Your site is great and you do a great job.

I wss in the xmas place chat room last Sunday night. A few people showed up. It started out as just two of us. People are usually in there on Sunday evenings I guess.

Sunday nights work well for a lot of folks, but it doesn't work well for me. In fact, I can't think of a night that works well...unless it is like 1am or something!

A group of us try to be in the chat room on Sundays about 7pm eastern time. We listen to "The Bone Conduction Music Show" http://www.thayrone.com/listennow.html and chat. Sometimes, the show's producer, Lovely Linda, logs in the chat room and takes requests and shout outs for host, Thayrone. If Linda isn't in the chat room, I collect a list of everybody and where they are listening from and call the station. A couple of Sundays ago, Thayrone even played a Christmas tune for all of us and I hadn't even called in!

So, join us from 7pm to 11pm each Sunday night. Every once and a while, I'm late in getting there, but I'm usualy always there by 8.

The rule of thumb for the rest of the week is to be on each evening around 7pm, ET. I've run into a few folks there from time to time.
