Don't tell Clarise that Rudolph is a girl! She'll be highly disappointed! :o

Well, I know Vixen is a girl. She has quite the reputation.
But Donner is a boy. As is Blitzen. And there isn't a girl in any species willing to call themselves Comet.
Besides, there's no way all of Santa's reindeer could be girls, I don't care what the biological facts are. These reindeer can fly. Who says then that they have to lose their antlers?

If they were all girls (I'm about to step in it), how would they ever find their way around the world without demanding that Santa stop for directions? What about the hourly stops for restroom breaks? Could Santa ever get them to fly by an outlet mall?  8)

Well, now that YOU brought it up, Sheep --
these reindeer are ALWAYS together. You never see them alone. That COULD mean they are all girls.

I have been doing a little reading on this subject and it seems that most people are quoting from one or two early web articles, both of which say that "most" male reindeer lose their antlers by early December. Another interesting and amazing fact is that female reindeer can become moms as early as one year old. Some can conceive as early as 5 months old! I just find this phenominal. How could it be possible? "Your eight months old and you haven't found someone yet?" :D

CLEARLY, when referring to regular run of the mill reindeer, the males loose their antlers. but we aint talking regular reindeer. so i fail to see what all the fuss is about!

Whatever happened to the original poster anyway? help2soldiers, where are you? For a fact, I know Rudolph is a male reindeer. What female could live with a name like Rudolph.

Ok just lets give this one to the males. Just to make them happy. When deep down we know all Santa's reindeer were female.
1. When girls are grouped together they never ask for directions. Because being out with the girls is just fun and we are never lost we are just in a new place to be found thats all.
2. We females had to make the lead reindeer with a male name so all you males didnt get a hit in the ego. Besides I have seen many girls with the shorten version of the name Rudolph - you know Rudy.

If you had the chance to name eight female reindeer, would you really have chosen Dasher? Obviously men. The boys trained for the chance to fly with the team while the girls hung back and hoped one of the guys would walk them home. I saw the show; I know it's true.

Alright i'm going to have to throw in my 2 cents. Lets face it ladies and gentlemen, Dancer Prancer and Vixen are the only female Reindeer. We all know Donner, Rudolf, Blitzen, Cupid, Comet and Dasher are the males running the show.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December.
Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring; therefore, according to every historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, every single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen- had to be a girl.

Those points have already been stated. We're trying to show that science is just stupid and you're not helping. :D

Prove that science is stupid? How about the fact that NASA lost a whole probe mission because they didn't convert from Metric to SAE.

Like anything science is only as good as the humans conducting it

Well if that's what they have going on at NASA, I wonder how they fair elsewhere.

If scientists weren't human, I might trust their findings a bit more, but when they submit to party pressure or religious leanings, it's difficult to know who's being objective. As for the reindeer, all male.

I like your logic. "I'm right. No use in arguing. Shut up." I'm well versed in the art myself.
