Hi from jashay

Hi people
I'm from England and I have a burning question for English people of about 40 years old. When we were kids, at Christmas, there used to be a film that involved a boy, girl, old man and a house. At the end of the film there was a big fire and a big sweeping staircase and I think the old man, who may or may not have been a ghost, went up in flames. It was set in Victorian times I think. Does anyone remember this film? I'm desperately trying to find the name of it so if anyone can help that would be fantastic.

Glad to see you - I'm in Scotland. DVDGuy will be along presently and will amaze us all with his brilliance and superior movie knowledge. I seriously doubt there is a Christmas movie he has missed and if he has, it couldn't have been verty good to start with.
