Y'know, I'm suddenly starting to learn something, as I post my first two significant items as a member of the North Pole News Bureau: it may not be easy getting the hang of it, but I intend to manage! I took a long, careful read through the guidelines we use when it comes to posting news items; as you might expect, I've found myself to be a quick eager student. I am probably the fastest learner when it comes to following the rules here at ClausNET.com, for Santa Rielly and Legendary Santa Claus always find ways to make sure I've got things straight. They're both very good teachers, and I respect them both for just that.

In fact, they remind me of an annual event that Smith-Hemion used to produce for the Disney Channel: The Walt Disney Company Presents the American Teacher Awards. The show's theme song, "I Have Come to Learn," music by Larry Grossman, lyrics by Buz Kohan, pretty much said it all:

STUDENTS:
We have come to learn
All you have to teach.
We have come to learn
To extend our reach ---
To learn how the ever-changing world evolved,
And how great (today's) problems are solved.

TEACHERS:
We have come to teach
Come to open doors
We have come to teach
All (What) we've learned before (is yours).
The skills of a lifetime we would (will) gladly share with you,
For we truly care........

ALL:
Through the cold, dark night,
We are drawn (You'll be led) to the light
Of the Lamp of Knowledge,
Where great thoughts are formed
We are drawn/You'll be led to the Lamp of Knowledge,
Where we are/And you'll be warmed!

Unfortunately, they've not yet posted a clip from the annual show on YouTube as yet; so this version is pretty much as good as it gets. Hopefully, it'll inspire more of us to find our way, as I did, into the ranks of the North Pole News Bureau!
