Really?? Oh no! I've been looking forward to seeing this movie. Did you enjoy the first one? I can't imagine that staring at Johnny Depp could be that tedious

Yes, we loved the first one. And my son has been drilling me for more than a year to take him to this one as a birthday present.

The movie was ok. This is the middle of three movies. My problem with it is that the story was a bit convoluted, the chase scenes beyond absurd and way to long and at two and half hours that's a long time to sit for a story that doesn't really end (it just sets up movie #3).

I felt somewhat the same about Superman...it too was just too slow and too long. Pirates wasn't really slow...it was just one endless near-miss after another. At least they had a little fun in this movie. Superman has ZERO fun to it.

Go see it. Just lower your expectations.

I just heard they are changing one of the Pirate characters in the "Pirates of the Carribbean" ride and Disney land/world to look like "Jack Sparrow"

Too cool....

Actually I heard that they changed several of the characters. Has anyone been there recently and ridden the new Pirates ride to confirm that?

I haven't done Disneyland in years. Not planning on doing it anytime soon either.

We took our nieces to DisneyWorld in October and we rode the POTC ride, but I honestly don't remember if there were any Jack Sparrow characters. I'm thinking not. Of course, the changes might have been really recent, too. Does anyone know if the change was just at DisneyLand? Or DisneyWorld, too?

I will likely see the movie in a week or so, when the crowds die down. What did they do to rack up a $245 million production tab? Are the effects that good?

I am surprised that it would be tedious. I haven't seen the movie as of yet. I plan to see it this weekend though. And from most of my friends who have seen the movie that they said that this one was the best.

And I have been to the Anaheim Disneyland and have been on POTC. I know a few years back that Disney changed a scene in the ride. There was a spot where woman were being chased and sold off into marriage to the pirates. I know this scene was changed to not depict this situation anymore. And yes Jack Sparrow is in the attaction he is further down the ride paste where the selling of woman as brides.

I agree with Jeff's review of the movie. It was just too long and tedious. I live in Florida and Disney World is one of my favorite places. I took my mom there last April for her 60th birthday. We rode POTC. I don't remember seeing Jack Sparrow on the ride. I thought the first movie was way better and more entertaining. Not sure that I'm looking forward to the 3rd but it will be interesting to see Keith Richards playing Jack Sparrow's father considering the character Johnny Depp plays was partly inspired by Keith Richards characteristics.
