I think this has the potential to be a fun forum. Here we will read, post about, and discuss, celebrate, etc holiday books.
I envision this a little like a combination of the library and your neighborhood book store. Topics will include children's books as well as novels for us to enjoy together. I'd like to pick a book and create a book group....give everyone time to get the book and then read a few chapers each week and discuss them.
I'm interested in hearing other's ideas for this forum

Gingerbug,
So this is going to be sorta like Oprah's book club. We will pick a book and read it and then chat about it? I have never done that before. I really think this will be fun!!!!!
Thanks for coming up with the idea!!!

I'm eagerly awaiting the newest book, since I'm too late to join in the current discussion.
I have a lot of Christmas love stories, but do enjoy all others!!!

Do I have to do anything special to be a part of this book club, or do I just read the book and join in?????
I was reading a reply of Ginger's to someone else and it got me all confused.
(Not like that's hard to do....LOL)

:rudolph:I LOVE to read. Last year my husband bought me the holiday book, The Gift by Nora Roberts. I enjoyed it so much, and I;m looking forward to reading it again this holiday season. Monday night we were at BJ's shopping and my husband found another holiday book by Nora Roberts called First Impressions. He bought it for me too, but is saving it for me, probably to give to me sometime during the holidays!

Welcome.....please all remember that anyone that would like to pick a book and post about it and gather people to join them in a book club (read and discuss the book online here) can do so....please do not wait for me...jump right in and get a book going...as time passes I'd like to see more people taking a leadership role in our book clubs here because life gets busy....and its nice to have lots of helping hands!!! cheesy

We have been, Ginger! We decided that as it's coming up the the festive season, that many of us won't have as much time for reading as normal so we're "on a break" but only a temporary one and if anyone finds they do have a brilliant book or the time to read and discuss it, let us know. I'm sure someone else will join you!!cheesy

So true....Maureen ...thanks....life has been happening around here at a fast pace...LOL
Is anyone interested in doing a movie viewing instead of a book read....that might be fun...pick a week...watch a Christmas flick and discuss it....the lazy readers option....LOL

What if we were to read and discuss a, or a few, shorter books? One that comes to mind that I hear is really good is "The Christmas Jars"--it's pretty short. I have a whole library full of Christmas books so I'll take a look and see what other short ones I can recommend! Let me know what you all think...
