Welcome to our newest member, AmyHardy
Most of the postings found herein are of a Seasonal Musical Kind. Playlists from a show called "Mistletoe Mix" on Kringle Radio & Merry Christmas Radio will be found as well as general musings of lyrical & melodically significance as applicable to Christmas music and the enjoyment thereof.

However, the proverbial right for straying from the musical notes and verse is respectfully hereby instated to include the wanderings therefrom a mind that may every now and again think of something else of which to set to prose.

Welcome! Pull up an earphone or speaker and enjoy!

I've got a couple of out of print (oop) vinyl records for share at

Both are for a limited time, so I thought I would post them here are well.

Leslie Uggams has enjoyed a career as a singer, actress, and variety show host spanning fifty years! As I understand, Uggams was the nickname for young Leslie who would adopt it over her given surname, Crayne. By age ten, Leslie ‘Uggams’ Crayne was already in the studio cutting sides for the M-G-M label.

Offered for your Yuletide entertainment pleasure is the A & B side of M-G-M single K11626 by ‘Uggams’ with Orchestra conducted by Fred Norman. (Yep, the same Fred Norman who worked with Dinah Washington among others) taken from a 45 pressing. “Missus Santa Claus” & “My Stocking Is Empty” were released for the season in 1953 on 78 rpm & 45 rpm records.

Here’s what a couple of magazines had to say:

Jet Magazine – December 3, 1953 - Page 62 -

Leslie Crayne Waxes 2 New Xmas Songs.

A new Christmas record, Missus Santa Claus, by 10-year old Leslie (Uggams) Crayne was released by the MGM Recording Company. Leslie sang the number at the National Juke Box Operators Convention in New York and critics predict that the record (with My Stocking Is Empty on the reverse side) will be a hit during the Yule Season. Young Leslie started her professional career in 1951 after whe won four consecutive prizes on Arthur Godfrey’s TV show.
