It has been an eventful post-Christmas season for me. So unlike years passed. I've been away and I don't like to do that and there are many things around MMC that have been neglected as a result.

Sorry about that.

We took a screaming trip to California for the funeral of Sandy's Grandmother and returned home to Utah to find a crisis in the making at my Mother's house. My sister was in the hospital for a while and we had a few other family health issues that required our attention. Fortunately, all are healthy or will recover. It was just a time period where hands-on assistance was needed and we did what had to be done.

Now we're back home and trying to pick up the pieces.

How hectic has it been?

We had a visit from a neighbor the other night who looked at our still decorated tree and noticed an unopened Christmas present still sitting on the floor way up behind the tree.

"Starting on next Christmas already?" she asked.

We laughed and let one of the kids open it. It was a calendar -- funny, considering the month of January is more than half behind us.

For My Merry Christmas we now enter our lonliest months of the year. February, March and April are a time of planning for the season ahead without much of a crowd here on the site.

We understand this. While our loyal year-round enthusiasts stay with us -- a small and faithful core -- the masses have gone home and should we even dare to send out a newsletter now we'll get all kinds of complaints.

Christmas is like that. Bold and brash when in season but sent to a corner by some as the dog days of winter settle in around us.

But we'll get very busy here behind the scenes. Much of what will happen in the last months of 2011 gets planned and programmed in the next 90 days.

I won't spill the beans here now. It would be premature anyway. I tend to bite off more than I can chew and these are not times to under deliver. Let it suffice to say that there is much more to come when it comes to Christmas.

I just hope we can settle into a dull routine. Life in 2010 was a roller coaster and it had a measure of pain with it. That's just the way it is sometimes but now I am ready for a dull roar.

Jeff, Welcome back. I, we all missed you so much. I hope you are well and that things will stay settled down for you and your family. I started a group while you were gone ! I don't know. I am not very good at running things so we will see. If you want to join by any chance, the group is called Christmas Pet-Purr-E and it is just what it sounds like.

Hopefully you will be able to enjoy that dull roar you spoke of !

    Take care xo

I'll join you in the dull roar, Jeff.

2010 wasn't a banner family year here either. We still managed to have some good times though and hope for a better 2011.

All life comes with a measure of pain it seems at times. We have no control over that just have to learn to roll with it. But rolling can have it's tolls. I am hoping 2011 is a good year for you as well as it is for myself. Money is tight here lost huge a contract but am full steam ahead planing for what I hope is "The Christmas". I am due for one been many years since I had a full out celebration of the Christmas holidays. If there is anything I can do to help MMC give a holler my way and I'll see what I can do.
    Best Wishes
