It has been such a nice weekend so far. It has been sunny and warm and Summer is definitely in the air. It just happens that this day is a birthday that is bittersweet. It is the 60th birthday of my belated husband David.

When David was here one of the wonderful things about his birthday, aside from celebrating him, was that it was about that time of the year we began to plan for the coming Christmas Season each year.

It was always so exciting !! David loved Chrstmas almost as much as me. He definitely became the same little kid I do at Christmas. Each year at Christmas he spared no expense or time in making sure everything was as perfect as it could be for me and really for everyone.

There would always be a night, usually just before Christmas by about a week, where we went to his mother's house and he wrapped one by one the gifts he had bought me and would bring them into the living room to let me see them, shake them and wonder. Each ALWAYS had special Christmas wrapping and his very special message in each gift tag. It was woundrous.

To this day, I don't remember many of the gifts themselves save a fair few. What I DO remember is how much of himself he put into it. How much love he put into each and every gift he picked and wrapped. He was the ultimate Christmas pal as well as husband.

Today he would have been 60. A lot of "if only" thoughts come into my mind this day that really do nothing but still they are there just the same. IF ONLY his employer had not told him and his co-workers they were losng their jobs. IF ONLY I had been home that day. IF ONLY David could have realized his worth was so much more than he ever could have imagined. IF ONLY.......

Happy 60th Birthday, David, my love. I miss you so.
