My name is Ron, I am a Christmas nut always have been always will be. I am first and foremost a stay at home dad that has an evening job at a retail/grocery establishment. After my second son was born I stepped down from my management position, so my wife and I don't have to pay for daycare. My wife is a teacher in the town we live, so people recognize us everywhere in our little town.
My wife and I have been married for 9 years. We have 2 boys aged 6 and 3, both are young Christmas nuts.

I have loved Christmas as long as I remember
from seeing the lights on all the houses, to seeing if I could stay awake to see Santa.
Christmas has been the one constant in my life it has always been there for me, through the rough times of my parents divorce when I was 10 y/o or my mother's passing when I was 16.
Everyone always tried to make it something special for myself and sister when we were young no matter what was going on. I now believe that is why I love this time of year more than any other because of the efforts of my family to hold it above any other time of year. I get to make the season special for my boys now, whether it be by playing the music decorating the house and yard or just playing the dvd's. The memories the season has brought have always warm and it is no wonder why I look forward to making more of these memories every year. My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story my favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night. My favorite Christmas artist is Bing Crosby.
Well if I ran on a little bit I am sorry I am new to blogging, it sounds always better in your mind.
I will try to keep posting and making it interesting for all who read.

Christmas is the time of year
For being with the one's we love
Sharing so much joy and cheer
What a wonderful feelin
Watching the one's we love
Having so much fun

I was sittin by the fire side
Taking a walk through the snow
Listening to a children's choir
Singing songs about Jesus
The blessed way that he came to us
Why can't it remain
All through the year
Each day the same
Heyeah, that's what I wanna hear
Heh heh
It's truly amazin
That spirit of Christmas

All the kin folk gather round
The lovely Christmas tree
Hearts are glowing full of joy
Sense the gifts that we're giving
And the love that we're living
Why can't it remain
Ohhh all through the year
Each day the same
Heyeah, that's what I wanna hear
I'll tell ya
It's truly amazin
That spirit of Christmas

Let me hear ya
Why can't it remain
All through the year
Each day the same
That's what I wanna hear
Listen to me
It's truly amazin
That spirit of Christmas
Ohhh It's truly amazin
That spirit of Christmas
Ain't it so
It's truly amazin
Yeah, that spirit fo Christmas
Oh Christmas
Oh Christmas

As a fan of Christmas movies, I am sure most of you recognize the lyrics of that song. I have never paid much attention to the song up until the last few years, it may be one of the most underrated Christmas songs out there. I was listening to it on may way to work on Saturday, driving through the chills it sent down my spine, and yet the warm feeling it brought to my belly. This song just conveys the message of what Christmas brings to us, the joy, the anticipation, the feeling that surrounds each one of us as it permeates the air we breathe.
I have spent the last 10 months building up to this moment of the year, the anticipation is in full effect, I want to get this house decorated inside and out, the beautiful lights filling my eyes while listening to the joyful tunes. I must take my time though, I want to enjoy each step of this season as once Thanksgiving gets here, the whole season takes off like a rocket and it is over faster than a blink of your eye. Christmas may be just a time of year for some, but to me Christmas is a relief away from everyday stress, tough times, the bad moments of the previous year. It is a time to make new memories, practice old traditions, being with family. I look forward to this, this joy. It "truly is amazin" as Mr. Ray Charles sings with all his soul behind it, the man who was truly amazing for his talents, can paint a picture of the holiday season we all feel, yet he lost his sight by age 7 in the midst of the Great Depression. He may have never seen the Christmas as we know it now when almost all is decorated with shiny colorful lights. He brings a tear to my eye when I hear this song. Christmas is mere weeks away, the season is here, along with that The Spirit of Christmas is now among us.

Well said! I love this song too, I get chills and emotional every time I hear this song too, even when it is the scene in "Christmas Vacation" when Clark is watching the old home movies of his childhood Christmases!
