    Thorns on the Mistletoe

    I agree Mr. Westover.

Personally I feel we live in this world and can not help being affected by government, religion etc. Can't stick our head in the sand. And I avoid threads that are not of my character but that doesn't mean I should go in there and be nasty to everyone because they post in there.

Sadly celebrating Christmas is being attacked politically and will always be attacked. It seems when some people are unhappy, they can not stand it when others are happy.

Our words should edify the listener and that should be part of our character but with some it's easier to be nasty.

It's like the old saying goes, you can't please everybody, so don't even try.

I really appreciate this forum and thank all who are involved in making this a wonderful place to come and enjoy the holidays and fellowship.

Well, isn't it one's perogative to not participate in certain threads? There are plenty of other places to visit here in the forums!

Personally, I don't go too much for politics. The fact that there is a thread for it here bothers me not in the least! No one has forced me to go there though I've wandered there a few times.

Don't go much for political jokes either; too often they get elected!

    A Christmas In Need

How can we not celebrate? Christmas is a time to try to forget our suffering & enjoy ourselves as best we can
The worse things get the MORE we need Christmas

    A Christmas In Need

Jeff, I would say that there are a lot of people that feel that way with the way the economy is . People are far too materialistic .They forget the true meaning of Christmas .

I do feel bad for those who have small children though who will wake up Christmas morning and find nothing under the tree. How does one explain to them ,that it's not that they were bad ,but just that Santa didn't have the money?

Mine are grown 19 and 22,but still my heart goes out to those little one's .

    Christmas Out There

There is a nice Xmas shop in Montreal... it is quite pricey, but there are great Christmas scenes (I don't really know how better to describe it!) you can buy.

    Regards,

    The Spirit of Christmas Within

Thank you to you, your family and everyone involved with MMC! I am a new addition to this site and already I can see what a close tight knit family you all are. I was looking at your family album and you have a beautiful family! It cannot be easy raising them and spear heading this site. God has given you a gift and I am thankful for that. Everyone I have come across on this site is so generous with their knowledge and time. It is amazing. To Jay.. I am still trying to log onto MMR (I told you I am a dork). I am hoping my DH can get me there today.
It isn't only men how wonder if they can do something like DJ but I am so happy for you two that your love of Christmas has helped a dream come true.. See it really is the most wonderful time of the year!!!
Thank you again, God Bless and Merry Christmas

I agree. This site and MCR are awesome. So are all of the people that contribute - all day, every day. I can't believe that it's almost two years since Mike discovered this place and got me hooked. Right afterwards we moved far away from my family, which has been tough on me. This place has become my home away from home and all the members, especially the "Christmas Crew" have become like family.
Thanks Jeff and all who contribute for making this place like home.

    Friends of My Merry Christmas

I agree Jeff (and Gingerbug), the Christmas company we keep is like our own Christmas Family Tree and I love the similarities and differences among them.

You have a "real job" so this should be your Merry playground. I plan on sticking around to watch it sprout new Christmas life as the years go on.

You know what's funny? When I just play around with all the holiday boards for "fun"...it's just that...fun and enjoyable...when I let myself entertain thoughts of "what if this could be a business?"....I just don't enjoy it as much and it starts producing stress rather than eliminating it........I say a hobby that you love is the better choice!!!
