My name is Ron, I am a Christmas nut always have been always will be. I am first and foremost a stay at home dad that has an evening job at a retail/grocery establishment. After my second son was born I stepped down from my management position, so my wife and I don't have to pay for daycare. My wife is a teacher in the town we live, so people recognize us everywhere in our little town.
My wife and I have been married for 9 years. We have 2 boys aged 6 and 3, both are young Christmas nuts.

I have loved Christmas as long as I remember
from seeing the lights on all the houses, to seeing if I could stay awake to see Santa.
Christmas has been the one constant in my life it has always been there for me, through the rough times of my parents divorce when I was 10 y/o or my mother's passing when I was 16.
Everyone always tried to make it something special for myself and sister when we were young no matter what was going on. I now believe that is why I love this time of year more than any other because of the efforts of my family to hold it above any other time of year. I get to make the season special for my boys now, whether it be by playing the music decorating the house and yard or just playing the dvd's. The memories the season has brought have always warm and it is no wonder why I look forward to making more of these memories every year. My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story my favorite Christmas song is O Holy Night. My favorite Christmas artist is Bing Crosby.
Well if I ran on a little bit I am sorry I am new to blogging, it sounds always better in your mind.
I will try to keep posting and making it interesting for all who read.

I Have Got Christmas on My Mind!!!

    Hi Xmas365

Another wonderful blog entry. I agree with you, I too am thinking more about Christmas and listening more to Christmas this year than any other year during the "off season." I do have Facebook but I rarely get on it as it just seems so, I don't know "phony." The MMC site is like a Christmas family. I am greatful to have such a wonderful place to talk about Christmas and to have such nice Christmas relatives as you and all the others. You should be a writer. You are very, very good. Blessings to you and your beautiful famly.

Terrible Twos, Here We Go Again

    Ron,

Happy Birthday to your little guy. Your son sounds alot like my daughter at that age. She was and still is a wonderful child. She wasn't what some people consider your "typical" kid. And she was never a terrible two (3,4,5,6,7 or even 8 year old for that matter) So for me and maybe for yourself it will be the terrific 2's!! Enjoy it while you can as you know with having an older son they grow up quickly!

    I Miss You

Hi Ron. I completely sympathize with you about your mom. I can also certainly understand why being 36 is starting to freak you out. Your mom passing at 36 is far, far too young. I am so sorry. I identify a great deal with your posts. My favorite Christmas Song too is Oh Holy Night. Therer are a couple of artists I like, one being Kelly Clarkson and another being Josh Groban but I just really love the song. It really touches my heart because of Jesus' gift to mankind.

Again, you have my sincere sympathies on the passing of your mother. My mother passed in September 1998, just 12 days after my birthday. My father and both my brothers are also gone as well as my first husband so there are many sad times during the year and can certainly undertand your sadness. I will say a special prayer for you and your beautiful family. Try not to be too sad. I am sure your mom would want you happy. Take care. Caninemom3 (Louanne)

Santa Claus, Broken Toys, and Pajamas

What a sweet story.. my almost 2 year old keeps asking, "Ho ho? (Santa) He go?" I keep telling him he's making his toys in the North Pole and will be back shortly!

Got to take down my last tree.

You can always put a few decorations somewhere subtle for an "off-season" lift. Maybe the ever popular bowl of ornaments where others have a fruit bowl?
