Why do non christians celebrate christmas?

Posted 09-15-2011 at 09:01 AM by lauriebear

CM3 this is for you... I LOVE this, LOVE it, if more would live it then it doesn't matter why you celebrate, just so long as we are kind and loving to EVERYONE, not just those who believe in Jesus.

HOW TO CELEBRATE CHRIST'S BIRTHDAY
-- from Christ

Dear children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan

In Honor of 911

Posted 09-09-2011 at 11:57 PM by caninemom3

In just a few days it will be the 10th anniversary of the 911 attacks. It is something that touched us all in very private ways yet still outward ways. To this day when I watch a tribute, I cannot help crying hysterically. Here is a tribute to everyone who passed away as a result and their families who survived.

WHERE WAS GOD IN ALL OF THIS?

First of all, God was trying to discourage anyone from taking this
flight. Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there
was only 266 aboard.

God was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability
to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was called by a loved
one on one of the high-jacked planes said that passengers were screaming
in the background.

On one of the flights God was giving strength to passengers to try to
overtake the highjackers.

God was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the...

I think I came to truly know he existed when I was about 19, I was in college and like many before me struggling to make ends meet. Working two jobs, a car that barely ran. Rent, insurance, tuition, books, heat, electric, gas, the amount of debt I was in was overwhelming to me. I think I was at my lowest at Christmas time, everyone else on break rushing home to family and me with no one close left alive and nowhere to go, no money to spare. I couldn’t even afford a tree, I was bitter and just feeling horrible and then my car breaks down. I really was in a bad way. I had no money to even get it towed it was on the side of the highway. I was in the car crying and a police offer (a Michigan State Policeman) approached I didn’t even hear his car pull

A few personal thoughts...

Posted 07-21-2011 at 09:31 AM by lauriebear

I posted this in a discussion in one of the forums, under Chit Chat, Home & Family, within the discussion Breaking Tradition?? I wanted to just remind everyone that we should all count our blessings, you do not know how long we have to all be together and while I truly hope I do not offend anyone that is not what I meant to do....
***************************
I read all the posts, and well to be honest some of you do not know how lucky you really are, I would give my right arm to have family or in-laws, or parents that I have to juggle and run too. I do not have this, no children to worry on, no parents to wonder if I should go to them, no in-laws upset that we didn't come. Christmas is at my home, I invite friends, and although I savor this, a part of me often wonders why I never had the "big" family of my dreams when I was a kid, but God knows best, and I didn't post this for anyone to feel bad, please don't I just wanted to let others know that sometimes...

Some Summer Thoughts

Below you will have some uplifting thoughts to ponder and reflect on and even make you smile...
Do you know why a car's windshield is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our past is not as important as our future.
So, look ahead and move on. Friendship is like a book. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, god smiles from above and says, "relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end! When god solves your problems, you have faith in his abilities; when god doesn't solve your problems he has faith in your abilities.
A blind person asked st. Anthony: "can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "yes, losing your vision." worrying does not take away tomorrow's...
