Thinking of the Holidays

Posted 07-01-2010 at 03:56 AM by kgstyles

This is the first blog I've ever done so here it goes. lol I'm 27 years old, born and raised in Chicago and I am married and I have 4 kids. I'm in the Air Force and am currently deployed to Afghanistan where I have been since January and will be until sometime in October. I LOVE Christmas!!!! It's my favorite holiday. I remember when I first joined MMC. It was November of 2006 and I was stationed in Las Vegas at the time and had been there for a few years and it doesn't snow there or anything and not too many people put up decorations and I was hating it cause like I said I love Christmas and it just didn't seem like it was even the season but it was. So I hopped online to find something to put me in the Christmas mood and I found MMC which is an awesome site and did the trick!!!! I don't post that much but I love reading all the posts by everybody else; it's interesting and I kinda feel like you guys are my home away from home cause I always think of Christmas and so do you all. lol I've...

The Top Ten Things I Love About These Forums

Posted 05-28-2008 at 08:01 PM by Jeff Westover (A Merry Blog)

It has been a whale of a day. I have recently received a pretty major change to my worklife and this week has been entirely out of control. Normally I can shut down my work a bit at this time of year and concentrate more on what my plans are for Christmas online. I'm not sure if this is going to happen for me this year.

But as I logged on here tonight after a difficult day I was pleasantly surprised to find a mountain of email, several private messages and a couple of hundred posts all waiting for me as a result of these forums.

All work, right?

Nope. Not at all. It is music to my ears, a balm to a work-weary soul.

These forums could never be work to me.

It got me thinking: was it is about coming here? I pondered that a bit and here's just the tip of the iceberg -- a top ten of why I love this place, starting with #10:

10. Traffic. City sidewalks, busy sidewalks...good grief, that's us. Here it is just...

All Through The Year Letter, February 12th

Posted 02-12-2010 at 03:46 PM by Sapsorrow (Maman Noel)

Hello again, everyone!
Well, I bit off far more than I can chew on compiling a list of quick, simple giftable crafts. There are simply too many out there to categorize! So, after three weeks of trying, I'm going to admit defeat and instead share with you my favorite craft project sources (besides looking up craft books on Google Books, of course). Please do email in your favorite sources, just remember to click "Reply All!"

So, what am I up to this week? Enjoying being snowed in along with the rest of the country, it seems! Oh, I have been busy about the upcoming holidays and working on next Christmas. It's "winter end" sale at Land's End time again, and would you believe that swimsuits and spring clothes are included? So I've stocked up on winter essentials while they're cheap. Snowsuits, snow boots, holiday pajamas, etc. We even nabbed adorable spring rainboots for the little ones' Easter baskets!

Ah, yes, Easter baskets! ...
