Stoerkel was working on some wine markers she made and a clipboard for a gift.

Ahorsesoul was working on some heritage information as she will be traveling and making a scrapbook about her family

I was working on a 6 x 6 Recipe book for a gift.

It was great fun and we got a lot accomplished...hey...if a little is better than nothing!! We will have a second Christmas in July virtual crop/craft time...I'll have to let you know the exact date and time!! If members are interested we may make it a monthly event...and work ...once a...

Christmas in July Day 8

Posted 07-08-2008 at 07:17 AM by Gingerbug (Seasonal Celebrations)

Let's hear a bit from MHH members first today. As part of the Christmas in July Giveaway...they are to post some favorite memories or stories involving ornaments:

From Magnolia:

My absolute favorite ornaments are plastic canvas candy canes that my Mom made.

When she died, my Dad didn't share any of the Christmas ornaments with us girls. Since it was Mom's favorite holiday and she always went all out for it, that hurt so much. But I do have those candy canes that she made for me one year shortly after I left home, and I absolutely treasure them now.

From Dreamer:

My favorite christmas ornament is the chrocheted mini stocking my Gram made for me when I was born, every year she put a dollar into it with the deal that when I married and moved out I was to use that money to buy our very first christmas ornaments together. 18 years ago DH and I took Gram with us when we went Christmas Ornament shopping and we still hang

Posted 07-07-2008 at 06:29 AM by Gingerbug (Seasonal Celebrations)

We are having a Christmas in July Give Away over at Magical Holiday Home....the way to enter is to post about your favorite ornament or a story about an ornament. Then on Saturday I'll draw a name randomly to win a "surprise"...and mail it to the lucky winner!!

This week I have high hopes for actually marking things off the I sound like a broken record. Well I am sooo committed to getting stuff done that I am limiting my computer my hour this morning is almost up! Don't worry I will be back for an hour this afternoon also and then evening...gosh who knows!! It will be my little reward for actually DOING something!!!

Here's the plan:
  • Recipes: I am on the last book from the library and then I can return the three recipe books!!!
  • Baking Plans: I am going to fill in that baking planner today if I have to just make something up....LOL
  • Menus: Making progress here as you can see from yesterday's post...still a few more

Christmas in July Day 6

Posted 07-06-2008 at 10:16 AM by Gingerbug (Seasonal Celebrations)

Here's what some of the members of Magical Holiday Home are saying about their favorite Christmas Music:

Zend: "I love listening to Classical Christmas music but I reallly enjoy listening to Medieval Christmas music. Every year at Ludlow Castle in England they have a Christmas medieval fair where all the medieval musicians in the country meet. It is wonderful sitting by open hearth fires listening to the music and taking part in the dancing and wearing medieval costumes"

HouseElf: "I have 219 Christmas songs on my iPod, and I think my tastes are, maybe, a bit eclectic.

Depending upon my mood:

Petit Papa Noel by Josh Groban
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen / We Three Kings by The Barenaked Ladies W/ Sarah McLachlan
The Seven Joy's Of Mary by Great Big Sea

Baby, It's Cold Outside by Margaret Whiting & Johnny Mercer
What Are You Doing New Year's Eve by Harry Connick Jr.

This is the end of our kick off week and tomorrow bring the start of a full and busy week.

First off we start the first of our projects...the wire Christmas Angels...they look sooo cute....I'm not much of a I'll let you know how they go and maybe I can get a few pictures up too.

Our Chatter Topic: Favorite Christmas Music...there's plenty of good stuff so I am interested to see which ones come out as clear favorites among the majority.

Then we have a Christmas Movie: Olive the Other Reindeer...we will be watching this animated selection and writing our thoughts about it! this one isn't as easy to find so not sure how many people are going to be able to put their hands on it!!

Next on Tuesday from 4-8 CENTRAL time we will have a virtual crop/craft time...for this you can either actually create holiday pages, work on your journal, organize your holiday craft or scrapping stuff...or any number of things. We will meet at...
