Santa Won't Let Me Down?

Posted 09-15-2011 at 01:58 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)
Tags belief, magic, santa

I am getting the feeling that Santa Claus may not be in existence for my oldest much longer, which is killing me right now and forces me to put my thought in my blog. He is putting all his faith in a gift from Santa that my wife and I cannot afford. While I was tucking him in to bed the other night I asked him what he thinks he wants for Christmas this year? He starts blurting out the usual things like some action figures, books, video games, and so on, when I saw a light go on in his little head and he said he wants Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a Nintendo 3DS. I told him flat out that Mommy and Daddy cannot afford that this year, and then he said "that's ok, Santa will bring it for me." (In my house we go by the rule Santa brings one present, the rest are from Mom & Dad) My heart sank as soon as he said that, he will be anticipating that will be under the tree from Santa only to be disappointed by it not being there. We bought a Nintendo Wii and put it on Layaway...

The Smell Of Rain

Posted 09-15-2011 at 12:12 PM by caninemom3

This brings tears to my eyes every time I read it and I wanted to share it with my Christmas family.

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the doctor
walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. Still groggy from
surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the
latest news.

That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana, only
24-weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency cesarean to deliver the couple's
new daughter, Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already
knew she was perilously premature. Still, the doctor's soft words dropped
like bombs. "I don't think she's going to make it," he said, as kindly as
he could. "There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the
night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future...

Why do non christians celebrate christmas?

Posted 09-15-2011 at 09:01 AM by lauriebear

CM3 this is for you... I LOVE this, LOVE it, if more would live it then it doesn't matter why you celebrate, just so long as we are kind and loving to EVERYONE, not just those who believe in Jesus.

HOW TO CELEBRATE CHRIST'S BIRTHDAY
-- from Christ

Dear children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan

She Has My Eyes….

She Has My Eyes….
Written on September 13th, 2011 by V. Rodney Harrison Jr.

With warm coffee in hand while gazing through the window,
I watch the snowflakes dance quietly from the sky.
And I daydream back to kind memories of my childhood,
Of more simple days long since been passed by.

With a deep breath that amounts to a reminisce sigh,
My soul reclaims memories of Merry Christmases past.
I can recall how ever carefree life appeared to be,
And how innocence would seem to eternally last.

The warmth of the fireplace burning freshly chopped wood,
With the sweet aroma of sugar cookies baking nearby.
My friends at the door chanting “hurry – let’s go!”
As I grab scarf and sled and kiss Mommy goodbye.

Family at the dinner table telling stories and laughing,
Grandma’s turkey and dressing abundantly filling us all.
Night services at the church as we thank God for our Savior,

In Honor of 911

Posted 09-09-2011 at 11:57 PM by caninemom3

In just a few days it will be the 10th anniversary of the 911 attacks. It is something that touched us all in very private ways yet still outward ways. To this day when I watch a tribute, I cannot help crying hysterically. Here is a tribute to everyone who passed away as a result and their families who survived.

WHERE WAS GOD IN ALL OF THIS?

First of all, God was trying to discourage anyone from taking this
flight. Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there
was only 266 aboard.

God was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability
to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was called by a loved
one on one of the high-jacked planes said that passengers were screaming
in the background.

On one of the flights God was giving strength to passengers to try to
overtake the highjackers.

God was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the...
