Another Dream (sequel to Xmas365 & Sons Light & Design)

Posted 01-14-2011 at 09:21 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

Okay, okay, you may have heard this before or a relative facsimile of it but my mind has been freed, I know what I was meant to do, I want this to come true. My wife and I were talking about what we would do if we won that large mega millions jackpot last week, but we don't play so it didn't really matter, I asked her if she would quit her job, she told me not yet, maybe down the road but not now. She asked me the same thing, and I didn't hesitate I said yes, and then I said I would open a Christmas store. I have been thinking about the Christmas store thing ever since I read RachRon's thread about it, (thank you for planting that seed in my brain). I described I would like to own a Christmas light decorating business, but that would only be a 2 month job, this way I would be able to immerse myself in Christmas everyday for my job. Christmas makes me happy, and I would love to do something I love. The ideas of what to do, how to set it up, and such have been flowing through my brain now...

Lessons

I'VE LEARNED...

I've learned-
that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.

I've learned-
that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.

I've learned-
that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.

I've learned-
that it's not what you have in your life
but who you have in your life that counts.

I've learned-
that you can get by on charm for about
fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.

I've learned-
that you shouldn't compare
yourself to the best others can do.

I've learned-
that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I've learned-
that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want...

The Tragedy In Arizona

Posted 01-10-2011 at 05:57 AM by caninemom3

I don't understand it. We as a species, people, humans, never seem to learn. We have repeated the same horrible mistakes over and over again. This past weekend, as all probably know, there was a tragic event in Arizona where a disturbed young man started firing a gun. Some people were killed, including an innocent 9-year-old girl and a judge. A public servant was also critically injured.

And what do we do as a species, this human race ?? We start POINTING FINGERS ! This, as well as any other time, IS NOT THE TIME FOR IT. Why do we always want to blame the other guy ?? In my opinion, ALL POLITICAL PARTIES ARE GUILTY OF RHETORIC THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN. Did this rhetoric cause the tragic event to happen ? I don't know. That is where some of the finger pointing starts. I will not point fingers. As a nation, we need to PULL TOGETHER especially in a time like this. Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party, Independents and ALL NEED TO STEP BACK and STOP THE CHILDISH NAME CALLING...

Kids' Letters To God

Posted 01-08-2011 at 08:20 PM by caninemom3

These are real letters to God that children really wrote !!!

Dear God,
Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that or was it an accident?
Norma

Dear God,
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don't you just keep the ones you have now?
Jane

Dear God,
Who draws the lines around the countries?
Nan

Dear God,
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church. Is that okay?
Neil

Dear God,
Thank you for my baby brother, but what I prayed for was a puppy.
Joyce

Dear God,
It rained for our whole vacation and is my father mad! He said some things about you that people are not supposed to say, but I hope you will not hurt him anyway.
Your friend (but I am not going to tell you who I am)

Dear God,
Please send me a pony. I never asked for anything before. You can look it up.

Birthday Thoughts

Posted 01-07-2011 at 10:00 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)
Tags birthday

My 36th birthday for all intents and purposes has come and gone. I have dreaded this one for a long time, not for the number my age has become but what happened to my mother at this age. Most of you know my mother passed away from breast cancer at age 36, leaving a stigma on that number possibly forever for me. I know the chances of me passing at age 36 are probably as likely as they were at 35 or 30 for that matter. It has been almost 20 years since that horrible day came and went, but the age 36 has never changed in my mind.

The other little thing I do for my birthday is leave make sure I leave all my Christmas decorations up and on through and at least one day past my birthday. I remember being a child and asking my parents to please leave the tree up for my birthday, they only did it once that I remember, but I remember being very happy when it happened. I have always loved Christmas, especially the tree. So my tree (and decorations) must always be up past my birthday...
