Tricks and Treats

Chimneys at work with warmth in their scent,
Brightly colored leaves freely dancing in the wind.
With burnt skies of orange becoming more dim,
The echoes of the day are now coming to an end.
The cry of a black cat that almost pains the ear,
A goblin dashing by with great speed.
Spirits roaming freely up and down the lanes,
Enough to make ones skin crawl and bleed.
This is the night for sneaky tricks of all sorts,
Of bobbing for juicy apples with glee.
With great disguises to confuse and surprise,
In hopes to venture on a tasty sweets spree.
The eerie sounds of old haunted dwellings,
Give way to children’s laughter and screams.
Of excited first timers surveying the streets,
Constructing their plans and thinking up schemes.
