Our Life Stories

Posted 10-21-2008 at 12:45 PM by Ms_Speedy_Elf

If you think about it each person on the face of this earth has a life story to tell.It may not be as interesting as the last person's story that truly touched our heart, but never the less it is OUR story and it is what made us who we are. We would learn these stories if only we weren't so judgmental of the way a person looked or acted. We would come to see each other in a new light ,a different perspective and accept someone for who they truly are ,rather than how our mind's have perceived them to be.

Remembering Grandma & Grandpa

Posted 10-16-2008 at 08:30 AM by Ms_Speedy_Elf

I have the fondest memories of my maternal grandparent's.(I think that what your mom's parent's are called)

I used to spend the weekends with them and when school was out stay with them the entire time.

My grandma was a sweet little lady .Only about 5 foot tall and didn't even weigh 100 lbs. She says the only time she ever weighed more was when she was pregnant.Grandma was feisty and didn't like to loose when she played card's. To give you a visual idea ,she kinda looked like Granny Clampett.I remember when she cooked her spagetti and made her own sauce ,using enough garlic that it would ward of the vampire's .(smile)

Grandpa was gentle, kind hearted man. Never heard him say an ill word about anyone. He always wore bib bib alls and when he went outside he wore a straw hat. I can most recall him setting at the dining room table playing solitaire or working the crossword puzzle in the news paper. He used Carnation milk on his Honeycombs cereal.Such...

Why Feel Sorry forCharlie Brown

Posted 10-15-2008 at 08:09 PM by MerryChristmasLydio

I got to thinking the other day about how bad Charlie Brown's life is. :D If you think about it all he gets for Halloween is rocks, Valentine's Day candy hearts that say "I Hate U," and for Christmas he just doesn't get it. I feel bad for Charlie Brown. Don't you? LOL!

What is in the box?

Posted 10-14-2008 at 08:53 PM by Jeff Westover (A Merry Blog)

I have been adjusting to a major job shift since June. It has me traveling a lot more. Since the end of May I have had just one full week at home. Tonight I write via laptop from Los Angeles.

My wife tells me that today we received a big box in the mail addressed to me.

That's very strange.

Like most traveling family guys I'm sometimes a stranger in my own home. When the phone rings it is never for me (I have teenagers).

My wife handles the bills and I rarely see anything from the mail box.

Our eldest daughter has long moved out but all her junk mail comes to my house. She gets more than I do.

So the receipt of the box today is unusual.

In the past my company had occasion to send things to my house. But that was when I didn't have a staffed office.

I've now got offices in Salt Lake City, Anaheim and San Francisco. If the company had mail, they wouldn't send it to my house...

The Christmas Room

Posted 10-14-2008 at 01:25 PM by TooShort4

So I have this spare room in my basement that is completely trashed due to flooding and storms and such. Me and my one friend are both obsessed with Christmas, and go all out on it every year. So we decided to turn this spare room into a Christmas room. We just started it yesterday, and the only thing we got done is a table setup and a 6foot tree setup. We are buying tons of lights and decorations, and we are going to have a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, tv/dvd player[for christmas movies!] and a radio down there. It is going to be amazing to sit down there in this Christmas filled room when its blizzarding out and sipping on some coffee listening to christmas music. The only lights that will be used to light the room is going to be christmas lights on the walls and ceiling, and surrounding the floor. I will post pictures when were finished!
