Love Story

Posted 07-26-2011 at 09:02 AM by Jeff Westover (A Merry Blog)

Someone once asked me why my wife Sandy isn't on My Merry Christmas. There are several reasons for it though she would tell you frankly that she just doesn't have time for the computer.

But it is much more than that.

I've taken great pleasure this week watching her get up early each day to run over to my Mom's house.

Mom, as you may remember, had two devastating strokes a little more than a year ago. In fact, last summer at this time we endured an endless string of nights and days at the hospital as Mom fought to recover. Those are sad and painful memories for me that I hold to myself these days because Mom doesn't remember them.

That is part of what made the stroke experience so hard. Her stroke was not of the variety that stole a lot of her physical abilities. Her stroke affected the parts of her brain that control memory and personality. For quite a while Mom was just not Mom. She was "living dead" because she wasn't "in...

Love's Time Travel Continued...

The train was quite, but Patrick could not sleep. His mind kept going over the events of the last few days, and now doubt was creeping in. If he could just sleep maybe this head-ach would finally subside. Owen told him not to go, his best friend, how he could not support him, but, there that wasnít nice Owen always had his back. Patrick opened the curtain to look out the window, the train was moving too fast to really see anything, but the moon, it was bright tonight, he wondered if Holly was looking at it now. With that he turned toward his pillow and the tears of heartache finally took over.

Holly was looking at the moon, reflecting over the past few days and how she went from being the happiest girl in the world to the very depths of despair. At first she threw Patrickís letter away only to retrieve it. She placed it in her diary, she knew it was silly but even this she couldnít throw away, he had touched it and it very well may be the last thing he sends her....

The End of The Magic

Posted 07-24-2011 at 11:21 AM by caninemom3

Christmas in July was to be an exciting and spectacular intro to the Season. The Season I love best. Unfortunately my brother-in-law developed a very, very serious condition and needed emergent surgery.

I know emergencies happen and I know that none of us are immune to them for we are all mortal.

Christmas in Juy has been a non-existant entity for me this year. Actually it strated before my brother-in-law had to have surgery.

I was jabbering away hapily in an e-mail to my sister because we always go to the Hallmark premiere, when her reply took me completely off guard.

It seemed to intimate that because she no longer needs ornaments she did not wish go to the ornament premiere. Never mind that we didn't have to buy anything and that we could use the day for a sister day. That never even entered her mind. Then Wes needed emergent surgery and of course and without question the ornaments were put on hold.

Two weeks...

My saving grace.

Posted 07-24-2011 at 04:56 AM by MichelleluvsChristmas (Michelle's Christmas Blog!)

Where to begin? When I feel tired, upset, or like I have had enough my saving grace is MMC. With my new job, it has been EXTREMELY stressful. Some of the youth I work with are extremely high risk (suicidal, substance abuse, or sexual exploitation concerns) and it can make for a really difficult shift. Sometimes I find myself being angry with them but then I remember they are just kids. On the days where I have just had enough and I need to calm down I head onto MMC. You all have been so lovely, and kind. I brag to my fellow coworkers about the people I talk to on here and how you all are just so wonderful.
This job has not been easy and I am truly learning about myself. However when I come home to this site, all my troubles seem to go away. I'm just super thankful to have such wonderful people to talk to... and now I feel like a million bucks just typing here haha!

Much love!

Time Travel... Are you a believer or a non-believer

Posted 07-22-2011 at 09:14 AM by lauriebear

Love's time travel
Chapter One

Have you ever taken a daydream on a late summer day, laying in a hammock or on a lounger, the sun warming you, lulling you, the Azure sky beckons you to shut your eyes, a butterfly comes in with the breezeÖ Or maybe it was a cold winterís day you stare out the window and the dreams come dancing inn across the dusky sky. You just sort of drift off, you know what I mean, and vision of times long forgotten begin to do a little dance of time. Here is where I believe time travel is possible, you disagree? Well, thatís OK, but let me tell you a story of a woman and a man who fall in love but fate plays them a bitter hand, and they never have the happy ending they were meant to have, so time steps in and lends a hand, to correct a mistake and bring them back together again.

Our story takes place in two different times, we begin in the year 1910, you will soon find yourself in present day and then back to 1910, letís begin...
