The Magic of Christmas

Posted 06-14-2011 at 11:01 AM by MichelleluvsChristmas (Michelle's Christmas Blog!)

Christmas is such an amazing time of year for me. I am usually in the Christmas spirit all year long, and it can drive people crazy!. I have been blessed with the Christmas Spirit, something very warm and full of magic deep down within me. It's there when I'm upset and need a pick me up, and it's there when I am happy and joyful. It's an amazing gift and I wish everyone could experience it!. Christmas is so very special to me, and I still believe in Santa and his miracles. WHY NOT! As we grow up and become adults, some try to tell us there is no Santa Clause, to which I say hogwash.... I choose to believe, and for that reason I find I become almost child-like when that time of year rolls around. I feel so happy, to be able to have found this site with all of my new friends, and people that understand what I have been feeling since I was a little girl. It's a magical place, and I'm very grateful to be here.

I Stink !! Or The Grass Is A Color Not Green

Posted 06-11-2011 at 10:19 AM by caninemom3

As a transcriptionist by trade, I think or thought I had heard it all. Every dialect. Every kind of dictator. In 17 years there have been quite a variety. There have been been several times when doctors thought they were being sly and "broke wind" while talking positive it would not be heard.

Guess what guys ??? We transcriptionists hear EVERYTHING. And I must say I have chuckled quite a few times when I have heard this.

I have been working at home for the past 4 years as a tanscriptionist. Before that, I was at one of the local hospitals and worked there for 8-1/2 years. Then the bottom started falling out for that hospital and I knew I needed to do SOMETHING and FAST.

My goddaughter had been working at home in transcription since she needs a job but had two very little tots at the time and she urged and encouraged me to join her company. As scared as I was, I did it. For four years good or bad, thick or thin, I stayed with my company....

A Time of Hope and Healing.

Posted 06-09-2011 at 09:48 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

Now that a week has passed since the devastating tornado destroyed part of my town, you can really start to see the heroes that have helped out this town be it the volunteer firefighters, the National Guard, police, or regular everyday people. The high school finally had its graduation last night (Wed.) and the Governor gave the speech to a great group of kids, many of whom used there own money to buy food for the volunteers, or just volunteered their own time to help people sift through the rubble. It is so refreshing to see the teens step up and help out when this town needed it most. A family in a neighboring town let a family that lost everything, use a house that no one was living in. It has been a terrible thing this town has gone through, but we will be stronger in the end.
As with any tragedy you have the lowlifes who scam the most down on their luck people at their weakest moment. There has been a story of a team of people who help remove trees that were knocked down by...

Emotional Debris

The pain and the sadness of seeing my town in the state it is in will not subside, I have avoided going downtown the last few days just because I cannot bear to see it right now. We were barely physically affected by this storm, but the scars left by what we have seen will not go away. Our friends and family that have lost their homes seem to be doing so well all things considered but I cannot imagine what they feel when they think about what has happened. My aunt says she feels like she is in a "fog" all the time and she has cried a lot. My boys are doing well, but JP was crying tonight before bed he was scared a tornado was coming tonight. LC doing his "drawings" says it is a tornado coming to "suck you up." This is something we now have to live with, for the immediate future, the scars on the landscape will be here for a long time to remind us what has happened.

Life's Message

Posted 06-05-2011 at 07:41 AM by caninemom3

I must be waxing philosophical this morning or something. I am sitting here trying to figure out what life, my life in particular, is all about. I have heard many, many philosophies about the subject in my time and none of them explains anything to me. We have all asked, I am sure, why am I even here ? This is a question I not only ask but live daily, hourly sometimes.

Is life supposed to be about loss, about pain and suffering ?? I suppose those things are all a part of all our lives and it is not that I have suffered more than anyone else. In fact my "cross" has been very light compared to those of others.

Still sometimes I am weighed down and feel as though I cannot take even one more step or crawl one more inch.

Now, here comes the pity party.

Why are all my family gone ?? everyone except my dear sister. Why am I so alone all of the time ?? At least that is the way I feel. Even my best friends in...
