My Little Guy Broke His Arm

Posted 03-29-2010 at 02:11 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

LC (my 2 year old) fell off his chair and broke is arm Friday night. He is doing fine and we didn't realize he had broken it until he had x-rays taken Saturday morning. He is a tough little guy and and was occasionally saying ow! That is what made us take him to the emergency room because he never complains about being hurt, if he cries it is only for a second and he is over it. Now he has this huge splint on his arm, but he has already learned how to use it for his advantage. (and weapon on big bro) He will be in a splint/cast for 3 weeks.

Terrible Twos, Here We Go Again

Posted 03-20-2010 at 04:34 AM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

Today happens to be the second birthday of my younger son, I can't believe he is already 2, he is still the/our "baby." I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday, and to see how far he has come is just as an amazing journey as it has been with his big brother. He is the most mild child but he is already a free spirit, and he is not a "terrible two' just yet and as we found out three was a lot worse than two with our first. We are being sure to enjoy this, because we feel at this time we are done having children. He loves Toy Story and that is what the theme of his party is but in the last few weeks he has developed a new favorite cartoon, and it happens to be Noddy, and it was hard to find stuff (toys) from it, but his Aunt came through with a couple things, but we got him a little bicycle with training wheels.
Happy Birthday LC!

Music, Family, and Ebay

Posted 03-12-2010 at 12:26 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

If you happen to have read my posts on some of the games and music threads you may have asked yourself "Who is the Move?" If you live across the Atlantic you probably know, but they just were never that famous over here, they had a cult following, and later performed as the Move and ELO at the same time phasing out the Move after contractual obligations were met. They existed as the Move from 1966-1972.
As I was finishing high school I truly did not have a musical identity. I grew up in the 80's but I avoided 80's music even during the decade, I liked some of it but at age 11-13, I found myself listening to the oldies station more and more. As a kid in middle school it was difficult to admit I liked oldies, specifically the Monkees, due to the fact Mtv showed them nonstop in 1986. In fact my cousin and I wanted to be Monkees for Halloween that year. After graduating high school, I had grown out of the Monkees phase years before and was listening to Classic rock, and I...

I Miss You

Posted 03-08-2010 at 05:29 PM by xmas365 (Christmas, Life, and Family)

Let me start by saying this is going to be a tough week for me. Saturday is the 19th anniversary of one of the toughest days of my life, my mother's death. It is really brings home the reality of life and how short it could be. My mother was only 36
when she passed, breast cancer took her within two years of her discovering it. I know it is not related but I am 35 years old and being 36 is starting to freak me out a little bit, it may be natural to fear an age when you lose a parent, but I don't know. I miss her everyday, and I wish she could've met my wife and grandchildren, she would have loved all of them. My mother spent the last 7 years working for God as a reverend in a Born-again Christian church, she loved the Lord and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do to help the people of the church, sometimes helping them more than herself. I am looking at this week as a tough emotional roller coaster, remembering the good times and crying through the difficult memories.
