Holding On To My Baby

A lot of people know that I love animals. I have three canines and three felines who are the loves of my life. There is nothing to me like the love of my furchildren. They are always loving unconditionally and expect nothing in return other than the basics of food and some measure of love back, which is much different than most humans I have encountered.

One of my canines is named Wishbone. He is just a little guy, I call him my "little man." Wishbone is a mix of Miniature Pinscher and Dachshund. He has a little stump for a tail and he is black, or he was until he started getting old. His once shiny coat is now salt and pepper gray and his once all black face is now mostly white. He is 16-1/2 years old and has some health concerns. Wish has been at my side through the very worst of times and the very best. He has seen many other furchildren become ill and taken away never to return. He knows when I am sad, he knows when I need love, his gentle soul knows when I...

19 Years And Counting........

Posted 10-31-2011 at 12:32 AM by caninemom3

I remember it as though it were yesterday. It was Fall, just after Halloween. The air had a kind of Autumn/burning leaf smell when you went outside. It had been raining that day. Early in the morning my husband, David, had called to say he would be late and just wanted to tell me he loved me as I was returning back to work at Rite Aid that day and we would miss each other in passing. He had worked nights and was really tired. More tired than normal, I thought. We had been married for 20 years. I met David when I was 16 and I married him when I was 17, almost 18. He was a mere 20 and turned 21 the year we got married.

We were exact soul mates for one another. We loved the same books, the same movies, and we could talk for hours on end which we did regularly. David always tried to tell me I was just as smart as he but I always knew better.

That Fall morning after I spoke to David I got up and got my shower and went on my way to Rite Aid. It was not going to...

In Honor of 911

Posted 09-09-2011 at 11:57 PM by caninemom3

In just a few days it will be the 10th anniversary of the 911 attacks. It is something that touched us all in very private ways yet still outward ways. To this day when I watch a tribute, I cannot help crying hysterically. Here is a tribute to everyone who passed away as a result and their families who survived.

WHERE WAS GOD IN ALL OF THIS?

First of all, God was trying to discourage anyone from taking this
flight. Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there
was only 266 aboard.

God was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability
to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was called by a loved
one on one of the high-jacked planes said that passengers were screaming
in the background.

On one of the flights God was giving strength to passengers to try to
overtake the highjackers.

God was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the...

A Hot Summer Day

Posted 08-11-2011 at 11:18 AM by caninemom3

[B]It was August and what an August. It was so hot if you went outside it felt like you had stepped into an electric blanket turned up to a million degrees. Lawns were dying. There was little rain.

The somewhat young man had just had a birthday in June. He turned 31. He was going through a tough time. Down on his luck. He had lost his job. His wife had kicked him out. He had no other choice but to go and see if his parents would let him move back in. He and his dad never really got along but remarkably his father agreed that his son should come back home.

Every day after he lost his job even though it was Sahara Desert hot he arose early and walked, going from store to store, from business to business to see if anyone could give him employment. He was tired and feeling very down on himself.

His only joys that Summer were when he would occasionally go out with friends and and hang out. He felt embarrassed that he didn't even...

The Ghost of Christmas Future - A Fearful Blog

Posted 12-19-2010 at 12:43 PM by caninemom3
Tags death, fear

It is so hard to believe that Saturday is Christmas Day. Time not only goes fast these days. For me, it goes with warp speed.

The Christmas Eve glow that I feel each year is becoming more and more prominent each day we move closer now. I may be a sap but I TRULY wish for peace on Earth and good will to all men, though I know this is probably something all of us want.

Our tree is beautiful as ever. The mantel is decorated with garland and tons of lights and on the mantel my Santa Claus figures which I have collected through the years even from when David, my first husband was here.

The nativity scenes are in their full glory welcoming the newborn Jesus to the world replete with angels, shepherds, The Holy Family of course, and bushels of animals !!! As one member of MMC put it (Thank you Trackrebel !!), my nativity scenes are like a combination Noah's Ark and nativity scene. There are dogs, cats, ducks, geese, polar bears, lots and lots of polar...
