November Adopt A Senior Pet Month...

November Adopt a Senior Pet Month, all too often people over look the older pet for it has too much baggage, but really don't we all...

Baggage (The Meaning of Rescue)
By Evelyn Colbath(c)1995 Baggage All rights reserved

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,
I'd like to open my baggage,
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry,
So much to regret.
Hmmm...Yes, there it is, right on the top,
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my perch hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave,
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me. Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things,
And take me right back?...

In Honor of Veterans Day... A Heart felt THANK YOU!

Posted 11-11-2009 at 09:59 AM by lauriebear777

Let us take a moment weather we agree or not with war to say a pray of Thanks to all who have served... For it is they who do the living, breathing, dying, for those who care not to look, they protect us when the evil knocks, willing to die for my belief that no one should in war. Thank you my Veterans, for all you have done, you do, and will do, thank you...

The First Thanksgiving

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast which is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. This harvest meal has become a symbol of cooperation and interaction between English colonists and Native Americans. Although this feast is considered by many to the very first Thanksgiving celebration, it was actually in keeping with a long tradition of celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for a successful bounty of crops. Native American groups throughout the Americas, including the Pueblo, Cherokee, Creek and many others organized harvest festivals, ceremonial dances, and other celebrations of thanks for centuries before the arrival of Europeans in North America.
