santahat Possible Prostate and Breast health benefits of Indole-3-Carbinol

Indole-3-Carbinol is a naturally occurring phytochemical found in cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, and kale.

The results of a 2007 study showed I3C has a significant inhibitory effect on prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, and offers a potential usage as both preventive and therapeutic agent for humans. Food Chem Toxicol. 2007. Technion Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.

From Tufts medical center, A 4-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 57 women found that a minimum dose of 300 mg of indole 3 daily may be necessary to reduce risk of estrogen-promoted cancers. Another study found benefits with 400 mg of indole 3 per day. Numerous animal studiessuggest that indole 3 might help reduce the risk of estrogen-sensitive cancers, as well as other types of cancer.

As with all supplements, do your research, and decide what is right for you.
