Xtree1 Christmas at Castle Howard

Castle Howard is open daily for Christmas between 24th November and 16th December 2012, with weekend Audiences with Father Christmas.

From the elegant decorations and music in the House, to festive food, gifts and audiences with Father Christmas, there is something for everyone this Christmas at Castle Howard.

The magnificent Christmas trees and festive twigs, decked with hundreds of baubles and lights, lead the way through this enchanting family home. Enjoy the dramatic 18th century interiors, beautifully lit by fire and candlelight, transformed in spectacular style by The Hon Simon and Mrs Howard.

After experiencing the magic of the House, relax with delicious homemade festive food in our restaurant and cafés. Enjoy a choice of seasonal soup and sandwiches, a traditional Christmas lunch, or indulgent winter specials to take away.

Allow plenty of time to enjoy Christmas shopping in the House Gift Shop and Courtyard, picking up charming gifts for friends and family whilst soaking up the festive atmosphere.

Children will love a trip to Castle Howard with Geoffrey the Lion’s special house trail, rides on the Christmas Express to the Lakeside Adventure Playground and a fireside audience with Father Christmas (pre-book). It will be a magical experience they will never forget.

Audiences with Father Christmas will take place every weekend during our special opening. With all this, plus daily live musical performances from classical to jazz, and choirs to soloists, a visit to Castle Howard will make your family Christmas all the more special.

To find out more about Christmas at Castle Howard download our brochure (please see Event Information Download).

Open daily from 10am (last admission into the House 4pm).
