Wishing Jars?

My son told me he wanted a "Christmas wishing jar" to put all of his secret wishes in. I had never heard of this before. I'm guessing he heard it from a kid at school or something. But I thought it was a cute idea for kids so I threw this together and put it in his bedroom for him to see when he comes home. It's obviously not a jar, but an old coffee container. I didn't have anything else laying around to use. But I think it could be done very nicely with a pretty glass jar or something more elegant. You could even have a family wishing jar. Anyway, has anyone ever done this before or heard of wishing jars?

What a neat idea and what a pretty jar. (I know it's a coffee can but you have decorated it so beautifully no one can tell it's not a jar). I bet you made him very happy.

Those are so cute! I'm going to run by hobby lobby and find a pretty container to make a family wishing jar.

I like it! Maybe I should put one out now so that everyone can put their wishes in it and then I will know what to shop for this year.
