I agree, Healthy eating is a lifestyle and not a diet, I love to cook and also I love to eat in different restaurant. I'm so excited for this coming Christmas because I know that this season is really a great time to spend a time with your family.

I have a recipe that I like to use for cabbage soup. It's one of those recipes that leaves a lot of room for customization to individual tastes that still remains healthy. Of course it takes more time to prepare your own food but it's also a lot cheaper in the long run.

You can even add a little extra salt if you like.

Cabbage Soup

9 ingredients

6 large green onions
2 green peppers
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 bunch celery, chopped
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
2 cubed chicken bullion
6 C. water
Season to taste with Salt and pepper

Simmer on low until the vegetables are soft.
Sounds good, we eat lots of soup here in the winter, I am going to try this one too! Thanks

This is a great thread. I am trying to drop a few pounds by getting back to the overall healthy life that I used to live.

I started working out again, which just makes me FEEL BETTER, both emotionally and physically, and I started decreasing my portion size. It's so easy to let those portions creep up bigger and bigger. Then I started spacing out the candy that I eat (it's October so candy is definitely NOT off the table for me). I got a bag of candy and I'm trying to make it last the entire month.

Plus I'm just going back to having a good attitude about food...I look at something sweet that I'm getting ready to eat and say "is this REALLY worth it?" If it's not...I just don't eat it. Also, if I take one bite and it's not that great, I just don't eat it. It's helping, slowly but surely.
