Local radio stations doing Christmas promotions

I need to rant here a little bit:

The "big hits" local radio station (not my favorite, but I tune in occasionally), here in my neck of the woods just started doing their "Christmas Cash" promotion again (they do this every October).

It's kind of a way to promote the upcoming switch to Christmas music. In years past, they'd do a "listen for the Christmas song of the day, and when you hear it, call in and win $1000 cash!" or some sort of variation on that. I loved it when they did that.

This year, they are doing a "listen 5 times a day for the code word and text in that word, and win $1000!" And then I'd listen and they wouldn't play any Christmas music and just a voice would come on and say "It's time for the code word. The word of the hour is...'BUBBLE'" And they pick other random words. They don't sound really Christmas related. And they don't play a Christmas song. And you text it in to see if you won, I HATE texting, sorry, I'm old I guess and not into that. Phones are for talking, not texting. And did I mention they're not playing Christmas music?!?

I miss the other local radio station that used to play Christmas music, but it changed format...

Anyway: is there anyone else here with local radio stations doing Christmas song promotions?
