Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

It happened today.

I know it is kind of late, however I just took down my tree today and put up the rest of the decorations. I had the up since Nov. 25th that is about 1/4 of the year I had my decorations up.

It wasn't because I didn't want to or being to lazy though. Me and my GF have a tradition of taking the tree down together, however it was hard to set a day to do it. We should of just done a little at a time here and there and got it done. I ended up doing it myself today just because with our schedules we wouldn't of got it done until some time in March the way we were going.

My husband and I have a tradition to take down our decorations together too, usually on January 1st. Instead of New Years Day being somber in taking it down we make a day of it by taking down the decorations, treating ourselves to lunch then come home for a movie and/or some games. I do leave a few things up for at least another month because I am not ready to take it all down but most of it comes down by New Years.

Hopefully your schedules will be better for you both next year!

If you had waited just a little while longer, you might of found an Easter egg hidden under the tree. Now, that would have been a story to share with the family for years to come.

my mom is fond of saying "if you have to dust the Christmas decorations they have been up to long!"
My decorations get dusted several times while they are up because I just love looking at them!
