When I was about twelve I got a dinner tray from my Aunt. Always thought that was a bit strange. Nothing particularly teenager specific about it just a plastic dinner tray. You can imagine the confusion on Christmas morning unwrapping it.

In second grade, I got a gyroscope from my parents... what is a seven year old gonna do with a gyroscope... I couldn't even make the darned thing work!

More recently, my brother-in-law got me a VHS copy of The Toxic Avenger...

As for clowns, everyone expects you to think of Ronald McDonald or Bozo but I always see The Joker in a dark alley with a crow bar... Brrr!

That's not a Christmas present. Those are stocking stuffers you pull out after the peanut butter trees. Win or lose, everyone has a good time.

I generally always like my gifts but my mom got the worst gifts that I can think of. It was my mom and dad's first Christmas together and he bought her a brown sweater and a boar's hairbrush, to be fair he was going by what my Aunt said she would like. I think my aunt wanted this stuff. lol

I'm not sure this qualifies as the "worst" but at least most uncomfortable to watch...

A family friend got his wife a vacuum cleaner for Christmas. She opened it, scowled, and looked at him and said, "Monday you can just take this back to the store!"

It got R-E-A-L quiet after that.

Oh goodness me, you mean a Onesie, yes, those things are VILE and a huge craze in the UK. I HATE them almost as much as I hate clowns. It's one thing wearing them in your own house but there's a growing trend to wear them out in public. Shopping, etc. I've even seen a few in college wearing them, complete with make up and up do's.

<grin> I got one when I was little but I liked mine. Always been a science guy though and at the time was wholly geared towards being an astronaut. At 13, I grew too tall and started wearing glasses. That was the end of my astronaut career...sigh...
