You already have a working title, "Our Approach To Christmas".

True enough. The components all come together for our total experience.
I would still like Christmas without the tunes but with less of a year 'round passion. Otherwise I would more likely be another in season only celebrator.
Yes, Christmas is all the aforementioned things indeed! Some mentioned family and that is a huge draw! However, family is the true year round passion for me with Christmas being only one aspect. I see and feel the magic of family on a daily basis!

Maybe folks could phone in what, to them, makes them like Christmas so much. Patterns may emerge that could lead to segments. Those with special passions, like RJD, might lead to full-length interviews. It could be an ongoing exploration.
I honestly don't know if I can describe it. The magic, the sounds, sights, smells.. the joy I feel in my heart when I see or hear anything Christmasy, any time of year. The pure delight in my children's eyes... happiness.
I wish it could be Christmas forever...
It's the lights and decorations. It's the joy in people's eyes. It's the sense of family and being together. It's the joy of giving and seeing a smile on someone else's face when you give them something they truly love. It's the music. I just love all of it.
To get all philosophical about it--the Light shining in the darkness. The coming of Hope, and (to me, as a Christian) the annual reminder of the Promise that was fulfilled at Easter. And, to paraphrase Fred in "A Christmas Carol", that it's "the one time of the year when mankind by one consent opens its heart to each other".

This was the question asked by my wife to me the other day !!! You would have thought she asked me how to cure world hunger or something. All I could muster on the spot was "everything" now my family knows I'm a Christmas nut but I've never been asked exactly why before. I'm not even sure I could put in one sentence . Can you ?
It's difficult to put it in to one sentence! I think for me it is the spirit of the Christmas season, the warmth and joy and love that I feel. It really is magical.
For me it's part nostalgia, I remember the great Christmases of my youth and how they were filled with Joy and happiness. Also at a time when people seem to have little time for each other, I always notice how on Christmas Eve, most people are just a little bit kinder and nicer. Over the years I've grown to love the decorations, the foods and candles, the TV shows and music. I don;t think I can ever fully explain why I have always loved the season so much, It's just something that I pray will never leave me.
