What do you think Santa does in January?

I think January is mostly a time of rest, relaxation and planning for Christmas 2013 at the North Pole.

tbutler has shown a merry disposition
Sleeping in. Long afternoons in his office, drinking cocoa, eating cookies, and taking notes about what went right and what went wrong with the past holiday. Cuddling up with Mrs. Claus in bed and watching the northern lights outside their bedroom window. Joking around with the elves. Playing with the reindeer. Getting himself psyched up for February when he hits the ground running and starts getting ready for Christmas 2013 in earnest.

Well, if I had to venture a guess, I imagine Santa is quietly walking through the abandoned, quiet workshops reflecting on Christmas past. Being thankful for the wonderful work put in by all the elves.

Then he probably settles down in his favorite, comfortable chair with hot cocoa near by going over the reports from Christmas 2012 and trying to find ways to improve operations at the North Pole.

January was so busy that I just heard from my contact at the north pole. They informed me that there had been meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Santa has been discussing everything that happened last year and everything he wants to do this year with all of the department heads. The workshop has been hard at work desgining new toys and pitching them to Santa. They have also started work on teddy bears and yo yo's. The wrapping department has designed over 100 new wrapping papers for the new year with the help of Mrs. Claus and is awaiting final approval from Santa before placing their orders. The sleigh department is locked away working on the design for the new sleigh and tearing apart last years sleigh to see how all of the piece's held up. The reindeer have had the whole month off from scheduled workouts but have been allowed out into the activity yard to play when ever they want. The clothing department like the workshop is also working on new designs for this year and has even started production on socks of all sizes and colors. The kitchen staff is busy feeding everyone and trying out new recipes to get ready ready for next year's big christmas dinner.
