My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
Well, I have a 14 year old son and I can give you three ideas: video games, video games, video games. Best way to do it would be through a gift card to a dealer near-by -- Game Stop, or Walmart, likely. Or, do the Visa gift card thing and see what he comes home with.
Another idea would be an itunes gift card.
Of course, movie tickets always work for teens too.
My oldest son is 14. You can get him video games like Jeff suggested, music CDs, Blockbuster gift card so they can rent a movie or a game etc. Food gift cards for pizza, ice cream, etc are also good. And then of course there's always cash, which teenagers love.
Call his mom and see which games he already has and which ones he may be getting for Christmas. Find out which ones he wants and go from there.
What about music CDs?
Hoodies? My boy loved hoodies at that age - still does.
Money, giftcards, gift certificates to McDonalds...
I have a 14 year old son and he loves anything that's electronic! Of course many electronics items are expensive, but not all. How about a movie "basket". Put a gift card for Blockbuster, microwave popcorn, candy, etc..and cellophane wrap it all together.

My son is 13 and I can pretty much guarantee that anything electronic will be a hit. You could call his mom and ask about what video games, CDs and/or DVDs he has, but if he's like my son, I'd have to go and check through them all. I'd suggest a gift card to a games store or a store like Walmart that has an electronics section. A Visa gift card would be great because he could use it anywhere. If you would feel better giving a gift, then a movie basket would be great or gaming accessories.
