Yes ma’am! You reported that WMJJ 95.6 went all Christmas last year on November 3. Look for it again around the same time this year.

KROQ - Las Angeles, CA?

Can anyone in the Las Angeles area, and/or that knows, give us the scoop on KROQ’s annual “Almost Acoustic Christmas” concert? Looks like it may be aired on the radio station. Also looks like not many of the live tunes are Christmas tunes. Anyone know?

Even if you don’t normally listen to public radio, please keep a sharp lookout for your local station’s Holiday/Christmas programming. Start by finding your station on websites such as these:

http://www.npr.org/templates/stations/stations/

http://www.publicradiofan.com/statsearch.html

Check at least once a week (Monday is good) for a holiday 2009 schedule. Check more often when October rolls in! Type “Christmas” and/or “Holiday” 2009 in search boxes to find what may not yet be in plain site.

Once you locate something, post a link and/or complete schedule here and any listen link(s) the station may offer.

Here is a great example from 2008 by station KMST in Lebanon, Missouri - http://www.kmst.org/holiday.html

As previously noted, we are looking for members of other countries as correspondents for Christmas radio programming. It doesn’t matter the language; a brief interpretation and link is enough!

In case you haven’t noticed, radio schedules are a lot harder to come by than television listing, at least in the US. CBC & BBC are good at posting radio schedules. Now, if someone would check them often for Christmas content!

Technically, I guess KPSU qualifies as the first station of the year to air Christmas music (although not all Christmas and not all of the time).

It was Christmas in September!

Sorry I didn’t find this in time for the live recording. Some of you may have been able to attend.

Check your local station to see if they will air this show. If they do, let us know when and if the station has a listen link. I would like to hear this one. Better yet, record it for me!

<WDAV serves the Charlotte, North Carolina area> http://www.wdav.org/19_281_0.cfm

Here is a YouTube video about the show - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eBYhcpUztM

From the web site:

A Carolina Christmas from Biltmore Estate, with Kathy Mattea

On Thursday evening, September 10, 2009 at 7:30 PM, WDAV 89.9 Classical Public Radio recorded a holiday concert before a live audience in the Banquet Hall of Biltmore House. This 90-minute concert will be produced as a one-hour program and syndicated to public radio stations across the country for broadcast during the 2009 holiday season.

Bob Kingsley of “Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40” countdown fame just inked a deal to keep counting until 2014. Kingsly’s show airs on around 350 commercial radio stations nationwide (US) each week.

Watch out for and listen to the annual Bob Kingsley “Christmas in America” 2009 edition on your favorite Country radio station this season. Post a time and listen link for us as well!

http://www.myspace.com/countrytop40 (Nice rug, Bob!)

Who has heard Bob’s annual show and can tell us more about it? Up until now, I have never heard of it.

If you like Country Christmas tunes, check out Sabine's thread here in the music forum -
