the perfect gift

Has anyone ever given the perfect gifts one year only to find yourself racking your brain to find others the following years?

I am having so much trouble this year at finding the right gifts for the right people. I think I have gift block!

My mother has this problem all the time trying to find the perfect gift and it really stresses her out. This has caused her not to enjoy the holidays that much and I try to tell her not to worry too much about it and have fun! I don't find it as difficult and I don't stress over it. I find something I hope they like, if not, I guess they can return it, lol.

I wish you luck in finding the right gift for everyone.

I sometimes have that problem. My dad for instance and his wife are extremely difficult to buy for. They live in Florida so shipping is an issue and they never want anything but gift cards and I hate to do that. But, I might just do that this year.
My mom is usually blown away by anything that I get for her but, I've really surprised her a couple of years now. One year her washer broke and I bought her a new one for Christmas. That was perfect for her because she didn't know how she was gonna swing getting a new one herself. And then one year we kept her busy while we moved out her living room furniture and moved in her brand new living room set! She was thrilled with that since it was the first new set she had ever had. Those were big years but, it was stuff that she needed and I was able to provide it so I did. Last year she was thrilled that I bought her 500 thread count sheets so I'm getting her 2 sets this year! It can be tough sometimes but, don't stress over it.

That's kind of the attitude that we've taken these past few years now. We don't take tags off of clothes anymore and we don't even try to hide the price. We figure it's easier to return that way so we just leave 'em on. Nobody gets offended if we decide to return something to the store for something else.

I always remember one Christmas I just hit it just right with everybody in my family. I mean everybody just absolutely loved what I got them. It never happened again, and I finally just gave up trying. I just try to get what I know people like, and are interested in. And like what was already said, if they don't like it, it can always be exchanged for something else.

Gotta love those gift receipts...for those who still remove tags.

I know what you mean about finding the perfect gift. Honestly I haven't been able to afford gifts for a long time now so I really want to make it good this year.
