Emergency Winter kit for car

my son official owns a car now, so for Christmas I am planning on buying a plastic container with cover and fill it with things he may need if he gets stuck this winter, stuff like a blanket, flashlight, flashing lights to put around the car so that oncoming traffic would be able to see him at night. Can anyone think of anything else to include?

I would throw in some hand warmers and maybe a fold up snow shovel.

Fantastic gift! I am not sure what to suggest since we rarely have bad winter weather here. I sure hope he don't need that gift before Christmas. Might consider an early gift if you plan to get some really rough weather before Christmas.
