I stumbled upon Susan Boyle's website to find the status of this cd, when it occurred to me that Susan Boyle was doing something really neat as a means to give back to the public. Basically, Susan created a youtube channel where she has invited folks from around the world to sing their rendition of "Silent Night". On Aug 2nd, Susan will pick the person (out of all the submissions) to determine who will sing a duet with her (I assume Silent Night) on her album.
I thought this concept was really neat of Susan, considering she obviously was brought to the public spotlight through similar means. I wanted to post a link to her youtube channel, if I may. There, you will find (in the galleries section) all of those who submitted their renditions of Silent Night. One of those folks out of the thousands will be given the opportunity to sing a duet on Susan's Christmas album. The Christmas enthusiast that I am, I sat through at least a couple of hours watching these submissions. Not only is it cool to watch people from all across the globe sing their rendition of Silent Night, but perhaps one of the individuals who I came across will be the person singing a duet with Susan on her Christmas album. Sounds like the type of thing our own RadioJonD was trying to get going with 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. He wanted to get a selection of members to record themselves reading the poem and he would then edit it all together with everyone doing a stanza (is it stanza or verse?)
I'm sure the option is still there if anybody's interested! Sorry - hijacked the SuBo thread; carry on!!!
